Soupy Sales Dies
You might not be older enough to recognize the name, but maybe you remember the face. Regardless, Soupy Sales passed away today at the age of 83.
Sales had his own show for a while and was best known for getting a pie in his face. He appeared on dozens of other shows. After moving to Los Angeles, he eventually became a fill-in host on "The Tonight Show." Sales was a regular from 1968-75 on the game show "What's My Line?" and later appearing on everything from "The Mike Douglas Show" to "The Love Boat." He played himself in the 1998 movie "Holy Man," which starred Eddie Murphy. He also was a star on "Match Game" as was known as one of the better players.
Later in his life he was a radio DJ.
