Random House bows down to NBA

Tim Donaghy, the embattled former NBA referee was all set to have his book published by a division of Random House, until the NBA stuck its nose into the fray.  The NBA threatened to sue Random House and mysteriously the book will no longer be published.

Exerts of the book have since leaked and they are scathing.  In the book Donaghy describes disturbing actions involving the refs.  Donaghy is finishing up his sentence for passing along inside information on NBA games, including games he was working.  It is in the NBA's interest not to have this book published.

Now that Random House is out, Donaghy is shopping his book to other publishing houses.  He may even decide to self-publish.  The bottom line is the book will get published and we will all get to read the juicy details contained in it.  The NBA needs to back off, we'll consider the source; that is who authored the book and make our own determinations on what tales he has told.  I'm sure it won't surprise us NBA fans, but it will be interesting to finally read.
