Bill Murray: From Bushwood to Pebble Beach
Bill Murray and his partner D.A. Points won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am and he didn't win a pair of socks.
Actor Bill Murray has sure come a long way from his days portraying the slobby and lovable groundskeeper Carl Spackler at Bushwood C.C. in "Caddyshack."
Murray's victory was the second time he has won a pro-am on the Monterey Peninsula. The first was on the Champions Tour with longtime partner and friend, Scott Simpson.
Murray's victory gave him a much-needed golf confidence-boost. "I'm thinking of turning pro," the former "Saturday Night Live" star told the Associated Press. "I probably won't. It's really nice to play with a gentleman. He's a good person. He's from Illinois. He's Lincoln-esque in stature and unfailingly polite."
I wonder if during his round, Murray refected on the Dalai Lama?
"Big hitter, the Lama", he may have remembered.
