92.9 Dave-FM to Become 92.9 The Game

"Wireless Wednesday" will go on hiatus for the time being as Dave-FM as it turns into 92.9 The Game, going all sports talk.  Atlanta radio is in a constant state of change.

92.9 The Game was announced today as was this info on Talkers Magazine

Set to debut in mid-October, CBS Radio’s new FM sports talk outlet – the soon-to-be-former Triple A WZGC, Atlanta will take the handle “SportsRadio 92.9 The Game.” Media chatter around Atlanta is that the station may reveal its lineup as early as next week in order to give the sales staff something concrete to pitch to clients prior to the launch. Earlier media reports alluded to the possibility that “Two Live Stews” Doug and Ryan Stewart – recently dropped from crosstown WQXI “790 The Zone” – might pop up on the station but TALKERS sources indicate that will not be the case. The programming philosophy we’re hearing about for this station is being termed as “fresh.” Stay tuned!

Georgia Hit With Football Recruiting Violation Because of Tennis

Seth Emerson does a pretty good job giving the details in this piece on Macon.com.

http://www.macon.com/2012/09/25/2190784/tennis-anyone-well-better-pay.html

Basically, the University of Georgia reported itself for a violation because a football recruit gain entry to the tennis complex in Athens for free back in May during the NCAA Championships.

Huh?

Guess the NCAA had nothing better to do, or should I say a ticket taker had nothing better to do that report this seconday violation.

And some big-name music tonite as Pitbull and Justin Bieber will both promoting songs from their new albums.

There are slso some changes to the rules.

This season, one week the celebrity dancers will be in charge of everything for their dance other than the choreography. This means they will pick the music, theme and wardrobe, acting as creative directors for that week. This will be an interesting challenge for both the celebrities and the pros. The “Dance Duel” is also gone, and that is good news.

Also, fans have been told the judging will be tougher.  Len has to love that.
