Conversation Corner No. 85 - NASCAR Driver John Wes Townley

This week on "Conversation Corner", I had the opportunity to talk with John Wes Townley, who captured his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was also the first win for his truck sponsor Zaxby’s and team Athenian Motorsports.

With five laps to go in the Rhino Linings 350, two-time defending champion Matt Crafton ran out of fuel, allowing Townley to overtake the sputtering Crafton. After running second and third throughout the race, Townley was able to hold on to the lead, fighting off Timothy Peters for his first win.

John is a great interview and hopefully on the rise in the NASCAR racing world.

Enjoy this week's Conversation Corner...

Talking to NASCAR Drivers

Had the pleasure to interview three different NASCAR drivers on Thursday.

Not the big name drivers from the Sprint Series, but three guys that drive on the Xfinity Series and the Camping World Truck Series,

Ray Black Jr., David Starr and Cale Conley were a delight to talk to. They were polite, gave insightful answers and seemed to be having a good time talking to me,

How often does that happen?

These guys are appreciative of where they are in the sport and are hopefull they will keep progressing. Each has a unique story and it was fun talking to them each for a few minutes.

Kurt Busch Suspended

NASCAR suspended Kurt Busch on Friday, just two days before the Daytona 500, hours after a Delaware judge said the former champion committed an act of domestic violence against an ex-girlfriend and there was a "substantial likelihood" of him doing it again.

They really do it bigger in Texas and that includes NASCAR fights. Here, Jeff Gordon goes after Brad Keselowski.
