Thursday Night NBA Play of the Night: Celtics

The Boston Celtics

These two rivals meet for the second time in about 12 days, this time in Boston.

I love Boston in this one as they are only giving the Lakers 2.5 pts.

The Lakers are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 Thursday night games, and the Celtics are 11-3-1 ATS when getting 2 days rest.  It all points to a Boston win and cover tonight in Beantown.

Bonus Pick:  The OVER.  When in Boston they usually go over.  The total is 188.  Take the over tonight.

iPad Free App of the Week: Calculog

More than just a calculator app.

Calculog is a simple calculator with an extra feature: It logs the history in the background and lets you send it to your email address anytime. You can also edit the history to add text notes before sending. It is a simple app, but is thought to become the default calculator for every user.

Great for adding up receipts, keeping track of travel expenses or mileage.  All right on your iPad.

This is a great free utility.

Fantasy Golf: Buy, Sell and Hold for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am

Remember to listen to the AudioBoo for this week's "flyer" pick.

Listen!

Three magnificent golf courses and many picturesque vistas greet the golfers this week as the PGA makes it annual stop at Pebble Beach.

A great field is expected and the usual assortment of celebrities will play alongside the pros for the first three rounds.

In 2010, Dustin Johnson outlasted veteran Paul Goydos for the title finishing at 18-under par.

This year, Johnson returns to defend his title, but he will have the likes of Phil Mickelson, Nick Watney, Justin Leonard and Hunter Mahan to contend with.

Weather is always a factor at Pebble Beach, but this week the forecast appears good for Pebble and the surrounding courses. A slight chance of rain could come as the tournament ends on Sunday.

Here is this week's buy, sell, and hold.

Buy:

Phil Mickelson (A) Phil is a good play here. He opened well at the Phoenix Open and if he can keep that going for four rounds, he should win here. He's currently 8th on the money list and he finished T-8 here last year.

Robert Garrigus (C) - Not off to a great start in 2011, but his is longer than long off the tee and that could give him a chance at this event.

Dustin Johnson (A) - The defending champ's game is perfect for this tournament. He already has two top-10 finishes this year and even though he had one bad round in Phoenix, he played pretty well.

D.J. Trahan (B) He's off to a bit of a slow start so far for 2011, but he showed some signs of life in the 2nd round at Phoenix. He had a T-10 last year at Pebble and if he gets hot he'll be in contention.

Tim Clark (B) - Clark is always a must play here. He has 5 career top 10's at this event. Better pick him up this week. He's going to play well.

Sell:

John Daly (C) - Not one top-10 in 92 straight starts. No reason to believe he will start a good streak here.

Tommy Gainey (C) - "Two Gloves" is coming off a top-10 in Phoenix, but with the wealth of talent available at the C-level this week, Gainey is a little to inconsistent to rely on.

Padraig Harrington (A) - You probably want to wait until the weather gets a little warmer and he gets some events under his belt before you want to pick him up

Hold:

Mark Wilson (C) - After winning two events already this year, is Wilson going to play this week? He's the hottest golfer on tour, but make sure he doesn't withdraw.

Super Bowl XLV Bets You Can Take to the Bank

Forget the squares games and all the crazy prop bets out there, here are a few bets you can take to the bank Monday morning and count your winnings.

Total 45 points

OVER it is.  These teams will score, and a 27-20 score means over.  When these two teams played in 2009, it went over, way over.

The Steelers go over in their last 4 playoff games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0 and Green Bay goes over 18 out of 25 games when getting more than 350 yds of offense.  Take the OVER

John Kuhn rushing attempts 2.5 over or under

I say this is the type of game where Kuhn can shine.  He will get over 2.5 rushing attempts and one will be for a score.

Who will be MVP? Troy Polamalu +900

If Pittsburgh wins, chances are their defense an Troy Polamalu in particular will make a big play.  At +900, it's worth putting a little cash on Polamalu to ne MVP.

Greg Jennings - 5.5 catches and 82 total receiving yards

Based on the last few playoff games, you would be smart to go with the over in each of these.  Jennings is the first option in most of Aaron Rodgers reads.  he'll touch the ball and often.

Total number of field goals missed by both teams.  over or under 1  -  Over for +400

Lot's of pressure on the kickers in this game, and they've been a little erratic.  I think each kicker will miss one.  Take the over on FG misses.

Good Luck to all!

Big XII Basketball Play of the Day for 2/5/11

Missouri

Colorado goes to Missouri today.  Missouri needs to make a statement in this game with the erratic play they have had of late.

I see that statement getting made.  Missouri is giving 10 pts to the Buffalos, and they should end up winning by 15-20.

Mizzou is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games as a home favorite of 7.0-12.5.  That should spell disaster for a Colorado team that has performed better than most thought coming into the year.

Take Missouri and give the 10.
