Today is 'National Museum Day'

A great day can be had at any museum.

So with today, Saturday Sept. 29 being National Museum Day and free admission at many museums, get out and see some history.

This is the eighth year that participating venues have opened their doors for free for the one day event.

“Last year’s event drew over 350,000 people and we expect this year’s Museum Day Live! to be even larger with the increase in number of participating museums and rise in ticket downloads from people interested in attending,” Jennifer Hicks, Group Publisher, Smithsonian Media, said in a statement.  “We look forward to museum-goers enjoying some of the finest museums and cultural institutions that our country has to offer without having to reach for their wallets.”
