Bristol Palin in the 'DWTS' Finals: Everyone has an Opinion

In the elimination shocker of the year, pop singer Brandy and dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the ones sent home on Tuesday night's "Dancing With the Stars." Brandy, who was consistently at the top of the leaderboard this season, received a perfect 30 for her Argentine Tango Monday, and was in third place.

The person that advanced to the finals, Bristol Palin.  Until recently, we knew Bristol Palin as the teenage mother and daughter of Sarah Palin.  Now, we all follow her every dance move on ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

Should Bristol be in the finals?  Based on dancing alone, no.  But it's not just about the dancing and that is what show producers wanted all along.  This is the perfect storm for this show which draws tons of viewers each week anyway.  Now there is a Palin controversy or conspiracy to talk about as well.  Have the Palin's orchestrated a voting campaign to get Bristol to win?  They may have, but usually when we get to the finals, the best dancer usually wins.

I received a tremendous amount of e-mails and comments from my article over at the Yahoo! Network.  The link is here:  http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/6019914/dancing_with_the_stars_semi_final_results.html

But I also wanted to print some of comments the readers left to see how much people are into this show and what it means going forward.

I guess the tea party is more concerned about who wins a dance contest than they are about the real issues in America!

I have watched this show from the beginning and I can tell you if Bristol wins, I will never turn this on again - this is pathetic to even think she came this far just because of her mother who has tremendous PULL. You'll see this show go down the tubes if she wins.

I now have 3+ hours a week more to dedicate to reading, listening to music, writing, and not watching DWTS. This is my last episode of my last season as a viewer. The finals are pointless since the winner will not be chosen for their dancing ability. I sincerely hope that the DWTS producers and ADVERTISERS read the posts of the shows used-to-be fans. This season has been riddled with rude, mean-spirited judging and unfair voting. The thrill is gone ABC.

What a disappointment, clearly Brandy was the better dancer! Bristol SUCKED from the very beggining and barely made improvements. This show is BS and so are the PALINS! I will not be watching again, this show is a farce, It's not DWTS, it's Dancing for Ignorant Politicians. Makes me want to never vote for anything again

This is a joke. I knew it was goin gto happen and I'll bet it happens next week. The Pee Party has screwed up something else...what else is new.

Tired of all the politics... (Guest) 11/16/2010

I love...LOVE..reality television. I can't believe that politics has crept its way into reality television! Looks like I'm going to have to tune out of DWTS for the seasons to come. Not only does Bristol Palin's undeserved run to the finals tarnish this season of the show, but it makes a mockery of the earlier seasons too. If the show is not canceled (I'm certain a large monetary contribution will come from the 13 Million Dollar (and growing) Mom, it should be renamed "Dancing With Politicos" -- clearly you have to organize a political action committee and get the grass roots machine in action week after week... Who cares about talent, that's for "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent"...for now!!!!

This is an absolute shameful example of the power of the Palin Stepford Wives! They want to shroud themselves in their so-called "Christian" beliefs, but how "Christian" is it to put what they believe to be the "power" of their politics over doing the right thing--based on honesty and ability, not on political affiliations or beliefs. They will continue to hide behind their self-proclaimed holier-than-thou personna, but fail others and themselves for talking too much of the talk and not walking more on the walk!!!

Sadly, I'm not shocked about what happened to Brandy tonight. We've seen more of Sarah's Palin's big head this season that many of the dancers who've been working their butts off. What's truly shocking is that ABC has turned it's network into a political vehicle for the tea-baggers. Mediocrity prevails yet again. And "teen activist"?? C'mon, she had unprotected sex, had a baby out of wedlock and is now going to preach to the rest of us how to live our lives. She's a wannabe reality star, just like everyone else.

And there are many and many more to go with these.

Dancing With the Stars: Bristol Knows the Politics of Dancing

As Dancing With the Stars finishes up the most important week of the season, three of the teams will move on to the finals and one will go home. With Jennifer's perfect routines and Brandy still in great form, it appears those two teams are advancing. That leaves one spot open, with Bristol and Kyle doing everything they can to garner votes and get that spot.

Bristol has been doing well with the fan voting and Kyle has been doing well in that area as well. Bristol is in last place after the judge's totals, can she make it up in votes. She can if the Tea Party has anything to do with it.

Brandy and Maks kicked off the show with their Argentine tango from last night.

I hadn't seen Annie Lennox in a while, but here she is on DWTS. No Eurythmics in attendance, but she sang a new Christmas song. We also got to see a little feature on hard hard the couples have worked to get to this point. Kyle stated that the mental aspects of the competition are more important that the physical challenges. No eliminations as of yet.

Jennifer and Derek are front and center. Tom tries to be dramatic, but he awards the couple with a place in the finals.

Next up some more filler. Cheryl and Derek to a Billy Joel favorite. Not much of a Macy's Stars of Dance this week.

More Annie Lennox, this time with "Little Bird." Also our pros give their opinions on the other dancers. Jennifer Grey got many props for fighting through her injuries. if she wins, that will be the story of this seasons show.

More results, up next are Kyle and Lacey. Lacey may not be the perfect performer, but she is one of the best teachers. The couple was excited to hear they made the finals.

Now a performance by Enrique Iglesias. Also a hot dance routine by the pros.

The final spot now will be either Bristol and Mark, or Brandy and Maks. The tension is so thick it could be cut with a knife. Both pairs have worked extremely hard.

The couples are on the stage. The couple advancing is Bristol and Mark. A disappointed Brandy and Maks are going home.

'Dancing With the Stars' Semi Final Preview

They are down to he final four on Dancing With the Stars.

Two favorites and two underdogs nobody expected to make it this far.  Brandy, Jennifer Grey, Bristol Palin and Kyle Massey are all vying for the mirror ball trophy and it's really up for grabs at this point.

Tonight, the couples will perform one ballroom dance and one Latin dance in hopes of moving on to the final three.  The edge at this point goes to Brandy and Jennifer Grey if she can stay healthy.

Brandy and Maks are on a roll. If you look purely at the scores, they’ve topped or tied the leader board the last four weeks.

The surprise of this season is Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas.  Mark Ballas is the key here.  He is a skilled dancer who has had the patience and drive to stick it out with Palin. If he can produce top-notch choreography and use her strengths, they could advance. Pay special attention to the  Latin round. Palin has to throw caution to the wind and let loose.

Fans, don't sleep on Kyle Massey.  "Fun" is the best word to describe Kyle on the show and he has shown improvement every week.  He will need some big scores from the judges tonight, but he's worked hard and capable of earning 9's and 10's.

Watch tonight at 8.

Dancing With the Stars Results: The Clock Runs out on Kurt

A big results show tonight and I don't have a clue as to is leaving. Brandy looks safe with almost perfect performances last night. Jennifer should be safe as well, and we appear to be heading to a Brandy/Jennifer final two.

Any of the remaining three could go home. Kyle dazzled the crowd and viewers with his instant dance. Bristol was elegant and hit all her moves in both dances. That leaves us with Kurt and I feel if he doesn't get a ton of fan votes he may be out.

As a bonus we got to see Kyle and Lacey's instant dance again. It was better the second time and is just a great routine. They received a 29 for it and it deserved a 30.

On to the results. They take each couple one by one this week, and Kyle and Lacey are safe.

Once again they bring Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice back for Dance Center. They analyze the competitors like only they can.

The first musical guest of the evening is Taio Cruz. Some great music for the pro dancers.

Next guest is John Legend and The Roots. More great dance music.

Now up are Jennifer and Derek and Kurt and Anna. Jennifer is safe, and Kurt to nobody's surprise was put in jeopardy.

Our final two couples waiting to learn their fate are Brandy and Maks and Bristol and Mark. Maks is still upset over comments from Carrie Ann last night. The next couple safe is Bristol and Mark. Brandy and Maks are in jeopardy.  Bristol must be pulling in a ton of fan votes.  I guess those Republicans are still voting.

Down to two couples.  Kurt and Anna and Brandy and Maks.  Kurt Warner is eliminated.  But a good job by Kurt.  A standing O for Kurt.

Dancing With the Stars Results: Rick is "Out-Foxed"

(I'll be updating frequently)

In just a matter of less than 2 hours the votes will be counted and we'll have some winners and a loser. I'm not talking about the mid-term elections that are happening all over the country tonight.

I'm talking about who will be the next couple to be eliminated on Dancing With the Stars.

Bristol got surprisingly low scores, and some predict Kurt Warner will be the next out. I'm not sure how much fan support Kyle is getting at this point. As with other weeks, it all comes down to the votes. And I'm not talking about the Nevada Senate race.

The show got underway with Team Apolo's team dance from last night.

Now, on to the early results. Both Brandy and Bristol were happy with their dances, Brandy is safe and Bristol and Mark are put in jeopardy.

On a side note, good musical guests tonight with Taylor Swift and Rod Stewart. The show also gave some "Best of" awards to honor the 200th episode of Dancing With the Stars.

Next up for eliminations, Rick and Cheryl and Jennifer and Derek. Both couples had good nights last night. Jennifer and Derek are safe and surprisingly Rick and Cheryl were put for the moment into jeopardy.

Next to find out where they stand are Kyle and Lacey and the team of Kurt and Anna. Kurt and Anna are safe again and Kyle and Lacey end up in jeopardy.

One more couple is about to be put to safety. In a small surprise to some, Bristol and Mark are safe.

In addition to everything else going on this week, we were given a preview of the new show, Skating With the Stars. The show includes Rebecca Budig, Sean Young, and Vince Neil.

On to the final elimination of the night. Shocked to see Rick Fox and Cheryl eliminated. Kyle and Lacey remain to dance next week.
