Dancing With the Stars Instant Dance Results: Nancy Exits With Grace

It was a perfect night for J.R. Martinez in the ballroom last night as he earned two 30's.  He and his partner Karina worked hard during the week and J.R. seem to expect the 30's.

On the other end of the spectrum, Nancy Grace struggled last night and is at the bottom of the standings, far behind the other dancers.

Most fans and experts would say that it's Nancy Grace's time to go home tonight.  Let's watch and see.

A nice routine to start off the show.  Complete will all the female professional dancers on the show.

Some results are up next.  Rob, Hope and J.R. are the first stars called up to find out their fate.  The first couple through to the semi-finals is J.R. and Karina.  Also through to the semis is Hope and Maks.  Rob and Cheryl are in jeopardy.

Next we get the infamous Dance Center piece with Jerry Rice, Kenny Mayne and Len. They recap the contestants and how they are doing.

Andrea Bocelli is up next with a great help from Chris Botti on the trumpet.

More Dance Center is followed by the new Michael Jackson Cirque show preview.  Lots of acrobatics and dancing to music from "The King of Pop."

Next we get a special performance from Flo-rida.  He sings "Club Can't Handle Me."

Now we see who joins Rob and Cheryl in the bottom two.  It's going to be Ricki or Nancy.  Heading to the semi-finals will be Ricki and Derek.  Nancy is in the bottom two.

It's down to these two, one is going to the semi-finals.  It will be... Rob and Cheryl.  Nancy is out.

The Muppets perform next week.

Dancing With the Stars: Instant Dance, Instant Gratification

The remaining teams have worked hard to make it this far, but they are even going to have to work harder this week as then now are expected to perform not one, but two dances.

One of the dances will be the famous "instant dance", this is where they find out what kind of dance, and the song they will dance to, right on the spot.

I'm sure the pros have had the stars work on the basics of a dance and once they find out which dance they will do, they will add those elements in and go for it.

Two dances will mean two sets of scores.  The teams will have very little margin for error.

Here we go:

First tonight are Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas with a waltz.  Good music, nice lighting and a solid dance.  Len said that sometimes their dances are a bit theatrical, but he liked this one.  Carrie Ann thought it was a very sound dance.  They get a 29 out of 30.

Second up is Hines Ward and Kym Johnson.  Hines was on top of the leaderboard last week and he wants that spot again this week.  They do a wedding proposal theme dance to a Natalie Cole song.  It was difficult and fast paced.  He takes direction from Kym very well.  He dances much like he plays football, nothing fancy.  He does what he is supposed to do and does it well.  They get a nice 28, including a 10 from Bruno.

Next on the dance floor, Chelsie and Romeo.  Romeo has been a bit up and down.  One week good, the next he tends to take a step back.  They dance a tango that is dark and mysterious.  The judges thought it was intense and sharp.  Romeo gets a 27.

Fourth on the floor is Ralph and Karina.  Ralph is nursing an injury this week.  He has a slight knee injury, but it's not a tear.  Their dance is dark and frantic as well, kind of like a Meatloaf video.  Adrenaline helped pull Ralph through, and they get a 25.

The final individual dance of the night will be Kirstie and Maks.  Last week they were a little out of sync.  This week they get the Argentine tango.  Kirstie looks like she has improved her footwork.  A tough routine and she did well.  Len thought it was hot, and Carrie Ann thought it was her best dance.  Kirstie gets a 28.

Next up are the instant dances.

Chelsie and Mark up first with a salsa.  A little screw up to start the song as the music started early.  They seem a little off because of it, but finished strongly.  The level of difficulty was high and good choreography.  They get a 26, for a total of 55 for the night.

Instant dance #2 features Hines and Kym with a jive.  They had a lot of fun with a high energy jive.  Hines hit the beats and had some great kicks.  They made it look easy and got a 26.  A overall total of 54.

The next instant dance is Romeo and Chelsie.  Another fun dance.  Romeo was a bit off and his posture was a little lacking.  But it was entertaining and casual like a salsa should be.  They get a 25 for a 52 total.

Still smarting from his acute pain, Ralph and Karina take the floor.  Good job for the instant dance with Ralph in pain.  Karina did most of the work, but Ralph is a true performer.  They get a 21 for a total of 46.

Lastly, we have Kirstie and Maks.  Kirstie may find it hard to do the instant salsa.  She just needs to dance and not worry about everything else.  I'm not sure it was a great dance, but it was entertaining.  Good energy and good chemistry.  They get a 25 for a 53 total.

Tomorrow night Adele and Michael Bolton perform.

Dancing With the Stars Results: The Clock Runs out on Kurt

A big results show tonight and I don't have a clue as to is leaving. Brandy looks safe with almost perfect performances last night. Jennifer should be safe as well, and we appear to be heading to a Brandy/Jennifer final two.

Any of the remaining three could go home. Kyle dazzled the crowd and viewers with his instant dance. Bristol was elegant and hit all her moves in both dances. That leaves us with Kurt and I feel if he doesn't get a ton of fan votes he may be out.

As a bonus we got to see Kyle and Lacey's instant dance again. It was better the second time and is just a great routine. They received a 29 for it and it deserved a 30.

On to the results. They take each couple one by one this week, and Kyle and Lacey are safe.

Once again they bring Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice back for Dance Center. They analyze the competitors like only they can.

The first musical guest of the evening is Taio Cruz. Some great music for the pro dancers.

Next guest is John Legend and The Roots. More great dance music.

Now up are Jennifer and Derek and Kurt and Anna. Jennifer is safe, and Kurt to nobody's surprise was put in jeopardy.

Our final two couples waiting to learn their fate are Brandy and Maks and Bristol and Mark. Maks is still upset over comments from Carrie Ann last night. The next couple safe is Bristol and Mark. Brandy and Maks are in jeopardy.  Bristol must be pulling in a ton of fan votes.  I guess those Republicans are still voting.

Down to two couples.  Kurt and Anna and Brandy and Maks.  Kurt Warner is eliminated.  But a good job by Kurt.  A standing O for Kurt.

Dancing With the Stars: Final 5 Will be an "Instant" Classic

It's down to the final 5 tonight on Dancing With the Stars.  The competition will be as fierce as ever tonight, as the couples will have to do an "Instant Dance", a routine they will find out about at the last minute.

This should favor the best dancers, and those that were prepared best by their pro dancer teammate.

Two rounds tonight. A classic ballroom round, then the surprise dance. I don't know if these teams are the best five teams, but they are surely the most popular.

Kyle and Lacey were first up with a waltz. Kyle has been working extremely hard to get to this point. I'm impressed with the fact that he is improving each and every week. The couple delivered a good waltz and Kyle keeps showing he is serious about this competition. They get a 27 out of 30. For their instant dance, they get 'Good Golly, Miss Molly."

Jennifer and Derek are up next. Jennifer's body has taking a beating over the past number of weeks. She's trying her best to stay positive and healthy as they move ahead. They performed a quickstep. Jennifer came through with a nice routine. They get a 27 as well. Their song will be Foreigner's "Waiting For a Girl Like You."

I'm always anxious to see Kurt and Anna. Kurt loves the competition and he loved to audible on the football field. I expect him to get through his instant dance tonight with ease. They too did a waltz as their ballroom dance. Kurt did a nice dance. Some technical problems, but he seems to love dancing. Kurt gets 24, and their music for the instant dance is "Hella Good."

Bristol Palin and Mark have been working hard. The fans are really on Bristol's side as she gets the lowest marks in competition, but keeps advancing. They get to do an Argentine tango this week. Even though Len said the dance lacked intensity, I beg to differ. I think Bristol showed her stuff this week. Intense, provocative, and naughty are a good description of her dance. She gets a 24. And her instant song is "Mas Que Nada."

Brandy has owned the competition the last few weeks, can she keep it up? Brandy and Maks know that nobody is safe, they have to be their best each week. A nice slow waltz, quite a moving experience. Brandy and Maks get a 29. Their instant dance music selection is "Teenage Dream."

Now on with the instant dances. The couples have only had about 30 minutes to prepare these routines.

Here's Kyle and Lacey first. They kept up with the music and did a spirited routine. Kyle actually burned up the floor. Lots of tricks and fun moves here. Bruno thought it was entertaining and fun. They get a 29 out of 30.

Next on is Jennifer and Derek. They get to do the Rumba. This right up Derek's alley. He's the best at setting up these dances, and on short notice he will have Jennifer prepared. They dance to Foreigner, even though they never heard of them before. Figure that. Another great routine. The judges loved it. Jennifer gets a well deserved 30.

Kurt and Anna need a good score here. They dance the Cha-cha-cha. I don't know if they matched up with the music as well as the previous teams. Kurt nailed his moves, and danced with confidence. They get a 24.

This is a big dance for Bristol. I think she needs to outscore Kurt to stay on the show. Bristol and Mark get to do a Samba. This is a tough dance to do without much practice. They get a 23.

Last tonight is Brandy and Maks. They will try and repeat their first dance of the evening. Not a perfect dance, but good.  Carrie Ann didn't like Maks'slow starting routine and they exchanged words.   They get a 28.  They tie for the lead tonight with a 57 total.

Now it's up to the fan's voting.
