Brett Favre to 'Dancing With the Stars'

Now that he is officially retired from the NFL, Brett Favre might be taking his moves to the dance floor.  ABC's Dancing With the Star's dance floor to be exact.

Word is spreading fast on the web that Brett Favre is a potential contestant for Season 12 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, set to air March 21. Dancing with the Stars has become a popular launching pad for retired or soon-to-be retired NFL stars seeking careers in the public eye. Chad Ochocinco, Emmitt Smith, Kurt Warner, Jerry Rice and Warren Sapp have all been contestants on the show.

ABC plans to announce the next group of contestants on February 28th.

If you are curious as to what skills Favre will have when it comes to the Paso Doble or Waltz, here is a clip of Favre doing something, I'm not sure if it counts as dancing, though.

Favre Wants to Start and is Fined

A busy day for Brett Favre.  Following the Vikings surprising win over the Eagles, Favre was at Vikings team headquarters today trying to get cleared to play in the final game of the season.  He has to pass a series of tests proving he has recovered from his concussion to play.

In other Favre news today, the NFL hit the veteran quarterback with a 50,000 dollar fine after the star quarterback "failed to co-operate" with a probe into his conduct off the field.

The league had been investigating allegations that Favre sent lewd photos and inappropriate messages to a former New York Jets game-day hostess, Jenn Sterger.

Despite the hefty fine, officials however backed off on saying Favre violated the NFL's personal conduct policy which would have netted him a suspension as well.

"On the basis of the evidence currently available to him, Commissioner [Roger] Goodell could not conclude that Favre violated league policies relating to workplace conduct," Goodell said. "The forensic analysis could not establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger."

Goodell added that the current Minnesota Vikings quarterback was "not candid in several respects during the investigation resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, (Jenn) Sterger and the NFL."

The probe began two months ago and the decision was announced on Wednesday.

Favre's Shoulder May Put Him on the Shelf

It's never a good thing when you have to visit, or a call is made to Dr. James Andrews.

In an effort to remain in the news, Brett Favre says his shoulder is now ailing and it could be a similar injury, wear and tear on the rotator cuff that was shaved during the previous surgery.

Favre is now going to call Dr. James Andrews, and if he needs to send a text message relating to the shoulder, we all know Favre knows how to use the SMS feature of his phone to do that.

The 41-year-old Vikings quarterback experienced a sharp pain there while putting on a T-shirt at practice Saturday and there was discussion about taking a pain-killing injection to play against the Bears, but that was dismissed.

Favre made it through the game fine, but he didn't throw many deep balls, and one he did to Percy Harvin was badly underthrown.

Favre, who has started an NFL-record 294 consecutive games, told reporters twice earlier in the season that he would be willing to sit out of a game if the pain was too great, but I can't imagine him not on the field when his 3-6 Vikes take on the Packers in Minnesota this week.

It's more than likely Favre will have an MRI early this week and they will go from there.  The way he is playing, I tend to think he is hurt.

Favre Hurt Again in Loss to Patriots

Brett Favre started his 292nd straight game as an NFL quarterback. He did not finish it, as I and many others predicted.  But it wasn't because of his ankle.

Favre got knocked down midway through the fourth quarter of their 28-18 loss to New England.  Pats defensive lineman Myron Pryor flattened Favre, who later needed 10 stitches to close laceration on his chin. He was already playing with two small fractures in his ankle.

There has been no update on his ankle, but I don't expect a chin laceration to keep him on the bench next week.  Tarvaris Jackson needs to remain ready, though.

Favre Will Start

Was there any question Brett Favre would start if he can walk?  The question now is how long can he last?  We'll find out today at 4:15 when the Vikings take on the Patriots.

My expectations are to play and play well enough for us to have a chance to win this game," Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder on Saturday.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Jackson finishes this game, if the Vikings get down big early, and they might because New England will be relentless against Favre and remember he has 2 fractres in his ankle.  Mark my word, Favre will bench himself as soon as this game is out of reach.

I have to think Tarvaris Jackson will et in this game and be more effective that Favre.
