Packers Cut Sitton

Josh Sitton has been a mainstay on the offensive line for the Green Bay Packers.

Now he's a Bear.

Can you remember a time when this past cutdown to 53 has been as interesting as this one? You have to go back 30 years when Forrest Gregg cut Lynn Dickey and Paul Coffman.

Bears and Bucs

Took in the Bears vs. Buccanears game in Tampa yesterday. Bears won, but stadium is nice and seats were fairly comfortable. It was hot, the Bears played conservative and the Bucs played sloppy.

Bears Defeat Packers in Golf Competition

The Chicago Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers by a margin of 10 to 2 in the first-ever Rivalry Cup, held Monday at Medinah (Ill.) Country Club near Chicago, host venue of the 2012 Ryder Cup.

The Ryder Cup-formatted golf event between NFL rivals raised money for Bears and Packers charities.
Both teams featured past and present players, coaches and executives.

The Bears were led by kicker Robbie Gould, who happens to be a 2 handicap player.  He faced Packers kicker Mason Crosby, who was impressed by the surroundings.

“Medinah is an incredible place, and I think all of us – Packers and Bears – were a little bit in awe of the Ryder Cup course,” Crosby said. “The setting definitely gave a little extra spark to our rivalry, and it was fun to see how good some of these football guys are out there.”

Participating Bears and Packers players also took part in a special reception and a Q&A following the golf matches. The Q&A was hosted by Jeff Joniak, Voice of the Chicago Bears on Newsradio 780 and 105.9 FM WBBM, and Wayne Larrivee, announcer on Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Green Bay Packers Radio Network
