Millennials Moving to Dallas

Mark Cuban loves Dallas, especially when it comes to tech.

Entrepreneur, investor and Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban wants millennials to move to Dallas – and he’s not being shy about touting the reasons why his adopted hometown is the best in the country for the millennial workforce.

In a recently released video, Cuban highlights what makes Dallas the ideal place for passionate entrepreneurs who want to impact the future, including a friendly business climate and high quality of life.

“If you’re young and you’re getting ready to start a business, no matter where you live in the world, I’d say, ‘Come to Dallas,’ because it’s friction-free, it’s really quick, simple and easy to start a company,” Cuban says. “There’s just a different work ethic here. …Every single day, there’s incredible entrepreneurs looking to invent the future.”

Cuban’s opinion of the region is reinforced by the area’s numerous accolades:  Dallas consistently ranks as one of the top places for job growth and millennial relocation in the country, and Texas has been named one of the top states for small businesses, with Dallas receiving an “A+” grade.

“Mark’s enthusiasm for Dallas reflects the strength of our city and the extensive opportunities that are available to our residents,” said Dale Petroskey, President and CEO of the Dallas Regional Chamber. “We can’t wait to show people around the country what we’ve known for a long time: Dallas offers the best career opportunities in one of the most diverse, dynamic and affordable markets in the United States. There’s simply no better place and no better time to be here.”

This spring, the Dallas Regional Chamber (DRC) launched its integrated Talent Attraction campaign, Say Yes to Dallas. The campaign has since spread awareness of the region via social media, interviews, and now through one of the area’s most influential leaders, Mark Cuban.

The video can be viewed on the Say Yes to Dallas website, which in accordance with the video has launched a new jobs portal that highlights various job openings available in the area to potential employees.

Here is the video:

Extreme Tornado Activity in Texas

Tractor Trailers In Dallas, Texas -  4-3-2012 -  Raw video of Tornadoes ripped through the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area Tuesday afternoon, launching tractor-trailers into the air as if they were children's toys. As a tornado spun through an industrial area in Lancaster, Texas, about 15 miles south of Dallas, it wreaked havoc on a fleet of trucks, perilously tossing them dozens of feet in the air.

Thanksgiving Football Plays of the Day

A trio of NFL games to watch on Thanksgiving Day and some good plays. Here are my picks and there are no turkeys in the bunch.

Game 1: New England at Detroit. The Patriots are giving the Lions 7 points. In past years, this would be a no-brainer, you would take the Lions because they always played well on Turkey Day. Don't make that mistake this year. The Pats are the play, they have too much on the line to not blitz the Lions. Brady will be fine. Take the Pats big.

Game 2: New Orleans at Dallas. This is the third game of the Jason Garrett era in Dallas, and it will be his toughest test. Dallas is getting 4 points at home, and that should be enough. I see the Saints winning by a last second field goal. Dallas will cover.

Game 3: Cincinnati at New York Jets. What is going on in Cincinnati? I don't know, and it's starting to implode. The Jets are favored by 9. They play close games, but this won't be one of them The only question is whether Rex Ryan will eat before or after this night game. I guess he will eat before and after. A big feast in the Ryan household. Take the Jets in a blowout.
