Week 8 NFL Play of the Day: Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have been a pleasant surprise so far in 2011.  It's been more of the same for the Washington Redskins.

That all bodes well for the Redskins as does the fact that the Skins are still having quarterback issues.  The Bills host the Redskins and are giving only 4.5 points.

The Bills also are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 home games.  Take the Bills, 4.5 isn't that many points and get the win.

Bad Break for Arkansas Football

Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino confirmed Friday that running back Knile Davis is expected to miss the season because of a left ankle injury.

The injury is a major blow to the preseason expectations for the Razorbacks, who were 10-3 and reached their first BCS bowl game last season. Davis suffered the injury early in the scrimmage portion of practice on Thursday and was carted off the field without being able to put weight on his left leg.

Davis led all Southeastern Conference running backs with 1,322 yards rushing last season, averaging 147 yards per game over the final seven games of the season.

He was a preseason second-team All-SEC selection and had also been named to the Doak Walker, Maxwell and Walter Camp Player of the Year award watch lists.

While Yellow Jacket fans can't match Georgia Bulldog fans in terms of number, they are a dedicated and loyal group.

Saturday marked Fan Day 2011 and even though the temps were hot and steamy, everyone that came out had a good time.

NFL Legend, Bubba Smith Found Dead

Former NFL star and "Police Academy" actor Bubba Smith was found dead Wednesday at his Los Angeles home, according to police and coroner's office officials. He was 66.

The LA County coroner's office said it has not determined a cause of death, but officials believe he died of natural causes.

Smith was found at his home on Sunlight Place in Baldwin Hills by a caretaker, police said.

The top overall pick in the 1967 draft after a sensational career at Michigan State, Smith spent five seasons with the Baltimore Colts and two seasons each with Oakland and Houston. He won the 1971 Super Bowl with the Colts.

One of the most feared defensive ends in the game, Smith often drew two blockers, yet was effective enough to make two Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team. His best work actually came in college, and Smith was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988.

Smith played for his father, Willie Ray Smith, in Beaumont, Texas, before heading to Michigan State, where he was an All-American in 1966.

As an actor, his most memorable role was playing Moses Hightower, the soft-spoken officer in the ''Police Academy'' series.

Smith was a regular in the groundbreaking Miller Lite commercials featuring retired athletes.
