College Football Bowl Play of the Day: Pinstripe Bowl

Where else would a bowl game between Iowa State and Rutgers be played other than Yankee Stadium in New York?

It's the Pinstripe Bowl and on paper it looks like a good game.

Rutgers comes into the game 8-4 and Iowa St. 6-6, so you might think Rutgers would be an overwhelming favorite.  Not the case.  The Cyclones have played one of the toughest schedules in the country and have logged wins over the likes of Iowa and Oklahoma State.

Rutgers has beaten South Florida and Cincinnati, but they might not have the offense to stay with ISU.

The game is a "Pick" or Iowa State is getting 1 point, which means it's a pick.  Take Iowa State as they will win by a TD.

Go Cyclones!

Big XII Basketball Play of the Day for 2/26/11: Iowa State

A pick em game today in Ames.  Nebraska is looking to improve on their 18-9 record and Iowa State is looking to earn their second conference win.

Neither team has much going for it in the trends department, I just think we may see some good ole Hilton Magic today as the season draws closer to tournament time.

The Cornhuskers won earlier this season by one point in Lincoln.  Look for the Cyclones to get some much needed revenge today.

Prediction:  Iowa State and the Under today in Ames.

The Big Game, if you are in Iowa

This is the big game on Saturday if you live in the Midwest between the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.

Predictions:  The game will be closer than last year's 35-3 blowout won by Iowa.

Both Iowa and Iowa State could be better teams than they were last year, and both teams had bowl wins.

Both teams are well coached.  Iowa by Kirk Ferentz and ISU by Paul Rhoads.

The game being in Iowa City is a big plus for Iowa.

Enjoy this rivalry, there is a chance this game might not occur with scheduling problems coming from conference realignment.

The final score will be 23-20  Iowa State.

Yes, I'm an Iowa State fan.
