1.   What's New in "Amazon Alexa"

Alexa has found its way to be a staple of the home office.

Amazon is doubling down on its Alexa-powered devices, with plans to release at least 8 new voice-controlled hardware devices before the end of the year.
Control an amplifier or even your microwave.

The amplifier, for example, can be used as the central audio panel to control multiple speakers that are set up across the home. The microwave can make Alexa a key part of the kitchen.

4. AZIO Retro Compact Keyboard
On Indigogo $130

AZIO Corporation, (www.aziocorp.com), a purveyor of premium tech gear since 2009, announced the release of their latest design, the Retro Compact Keyboard (RCK). This innovation from AZIO is being released through a flex Indiegogo campaign today so backers can receive the best pricing and early availability of this mechanical keyboard. The compact design is made of the finest materials and combines usability with two interface options for users to choose from, USB or Bluetooth. The RCK is compatible with Windows, Macs, tablets and is available in four styles – Gunmetal Black, Artisan Copper, Posh White, and Walnut Elwood.
Interested backers of this campaign can purchase the RCK early for $130 USD plus shipping—40 percent off of the retail price of $219. With a flex goal of $10,000, AZIO plans to use the campaign funds to customize international layouts for overseas distribution and secure the finest raw materials to meet the highest quality standards. Characterized as one of the most robust and solid keyboards, the RCK is made of premium alloy and opulent leather/wood, creating a timeless piece that adds a level of luxurious distinction to any work space. AZIO’s Indiegogo campaign for their previous design of the Retro Classic Keyboard raised 1,833 percent of their goal.

“Our aim is to create a timeless design that blurs the line between modern and retro, form and function. Striking a harmonious balance between these elements, the Retro Compact keyboard was designed to inspire and deliver joy with every press of a key. Its compact form and versatility lets you conveniently take it from your home to a café, office or anywhere in the world,” said Sam Li, VP design at AZIO Corp.

As most keyboards are created with fragile plastic material, AZIO released this version to stand out among the more traditional offerings on the market today. Aesthetically, users will be delighted to find that behind every key is a backlit mechanical switch that not only delivers a subtle click but also illuminates the entire keyboard. Powering it all is a massive built-in 5,000-mAh rechargeable battery which enables months of use on a single charge. In addition, a matching palm rest and two sets of pillar-style feet are included to conform to the ideal ergonomics of the user’s wrist position. Lastly, the RCK is available with a full line of accessories, including an ambidextrous leather mouse and matching mouse pad, with the same distinct look as the vintage, but modern, compact boards. Both are available in a variety of color combinations to adapt to many different styles and environments.

5. Sidewinder
https://fusereel.com/
$29.99

The Side Winder, a MacBook charger winder that winds up & protects your charger in seconds! Last year it raised $300,000 on Kickstarter & are now shipping live on website and Amazon.
The Side Winder keeps the cables organized from 12 inches to 12 feet.

6. Wood Blinds

Wood blinds in a home office can increase productivity.
“People spend a lot of time at work and their environment definitely affects them,” says Chanuki IllushkaSeresinhe, of the Warwick Business School Data Science Lab. “So if pleasant scenery makes people feel better, there’s a good case that the scenicness of their working environment will have a similar effect.”

It just makes sense. A visually pleasing office puts you at ease and allows you to focus on your work – boosting both morale and productivity. “Just make your space reflect who you are,” advises Mark Montgomery, founder of FLOthinkery.

Recommendation: Wood Blinds remain one of the most popular choices for any room – especially a home office. Wood blinds “add a feeling of warmth and coziness to the atmosphere in the room."

Taking about products for your home office this week.

The digital world has created a new age that is taking over the traditional business model the world has grown with, known as the Age of the Telecommuter.  A “telecommuter” or “teleworker” is an employee who does not commute to an office or place of business but rather works from home.  One in five Americans work from home and the number continues to grow.  People are no longer driving through morning traffic to work at their cubicles from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.  Technology has allowed one to use their mobile phones, tablets, laptops and more devices to video stream for communication and cloud drives to instantly share information beyond the office network.  The benefits found by those who choose to work from include less overhead as no office or supplies make for fewer expenses and great for startups and other looking to save money on rent.
