3. Hyundai Shopper Assurance
Hyundai Shopper Assurance has transformed the car buying process, providing customers with a frictionless, efficient and transparent experience. Roughly one year after the program was rolled out to Hyundai dealers nationwide, and after receiving positive feedback from customers and dealers, Hyundai is starting national advertising for the program.
Hyundai's 60-second first-quarter Super Bowl ad will star Jason Bateman and show how much better car buying can be with Shopper Assurance. Jason Bateman, the award-winning actor, director and producer, will bring his comedic savvy to the ad in a way only he can.
Shopper Assurance consists of four elements that make the process of purchasing a car easier, faster and worry-free. Since the start of its national availability in February 2018, 632 of Hyundai's dealers now offer the voluntary program, representing more than 77 percent of Hyundai's sales volume. Customers who have purchased a Hyundai vehicle through the program have responded very favorably.:

4. HyperX Brings Videogaming to the Super Bowl
The HyperX truck is onsite
HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc. and brand leader in gaming and esports, today announced that the HyperX Esports Truck – North America’s first mobile competitive gaming arena – will host four days of free football gaming competition at the Super Tailgate Party located just one block from Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The HyperX Esports Truck is owned and operated by Allied Esports, a global esports entertainment company. Proceeds from the sale of food and beverages will support the NFL Retired Players Association.
Bigger than four full-sized food trucks, the two-level HyperX Esports Truck will bring a unique esports experience to Atlanta. The state-of-the-art, 18-wheel, 35-ton semi-trailer unfolds with a push of a button revealing a self-contained mobile esports arena.
.
Fans are invited to join the free gaming experience to compete against other football fans and local gamers on HyperX’s pro gaming stage. Attendees will have the chance to test their gaming skills using the latest HyperX gaming gear as they battle fellow gamers for the chance to win HyperX award-winning gaming gear including gaming headsets, keyboards, mice, and mousepads. Raffles are planned during competition hours. All attendees are encouraged to share photos using #HyperXTailgate online for a chance to win HyperX gaming accessories and prizes.

5. Breaking Data Usage Records in Atlanta
The newest, most state-of-the-art NFL stadium is ready to host the matchup on Super Bowl Sunday, and the expectation is that fans will once again break data usage records.
Every year the data usage numbers go up, and the same is expected at Super Bowl 53. Last year's Super Bowl 52 game between the Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles was the fifth year in a row that data usage broke records. Fans consumed 16.31 terabytes of data over Wi-Fi that year, and cell usage increased, too. There were 18.8 TB of data going over the Verizon network inside the stadium on game day last year, and AT&T reported 7.2 TB of data going over its network inside the stadium. Sprint combined numbers from both inside and immediately around the stadium, for a total of 9.7 TB on its networks during Super Bowl 52.

6. Comcast/Xfinity Offering Free Wi-Fi at Spots Downtown
Comcast is offering free public Wi-Fi during the week of January 27 at eight MARTA transit stations, parts of the downtown Atlanta entertainment district - which includes Centennial Olympic Park - and at State Farm Arena, SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta. Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio 1/26/19 - PGA Show Tech

Like so many, Rick is ready for warmer and dryer weather and that means Golf Season!

The 66th PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Jan. 22-25, 2019, welcomed more than 40,000 golf industry professionals from around the world to discover the newest trends and technology from some 1,000 exhibiting golf companies and brands.  The industry’s annual “MAJOR of Golf Business” features a packed four-day schedule beginning with PGA Show Demo Day, Jan. 22, at Orange County National Golf Center (OCN), and continuing at the Orange County Convention Center.

Lots of tech on display:

What was at the show?
Rick and Sully discuss:

1.   Mizuno's announcements
www.mizunousa.com

Mizuno's North American headquarters is here in Metro Atlanta.

Announced at the PGA Merchandise Show, Mizuno unveiled its first ever globally launched golf ball, the RB Tour and RB Tour X, as well as an addition to the JPX919 iron line and its latest hybrid.

Created after 12 years of wind tunnel testing at Mizuno’s MT test facility, a new Cone (C) dimple adds all-new wind performance to the trademark soft feel and feedback of Mizuno’s previous Tour golf ball models in the four-piece RB Tour and RB Tour X.

2. Callaway Apparel - SWING TECH
www.callawayapparel.com

Callaway remains one of the biggest names in golf.
SWING TECH™  is their new technology that fuses athletic performance with classic fit and game-changing innovation. New construction and materials provide noticeably less restriction and more stretch to maximize your range of motion on every swing.
SWING TECH™ is featured in a variety of products in the 2019 Callaway line including:

Polos
Golfers can count on greater flexibility through the shoulders through a combination of a all-new seam construction and pliable blended materials. Taking a new approach on seam construction, our polos have taken the performance attributes of an athletic raglan sleeve and restructured it so that golfers still get the authentic golf styling that they know and love.  Featured SWING TECH polos include the all-new SWING TECH gingham polo, SWING TECH jacquard polo and SWING TECH fine line color block polo.

Shorts
The SWING TECH ergo shorts feature the all-new ergo seam and refined active waistband to provide more freedom of movement from the waist down. With the ergo seam, we have eliminated the need for side seams that limit flexibility where you need it most, giving you greater stretch and lighter feel.

Outerwear
Not only featured in polos, SWING TECH is also prominently incorporated into outerwear with a modified construction design, flexible materials and strategically placed stretch panels to help improve your movement, regardless of the conditions, making them the perfect complementary piece. Brand new in 2019, the all-new SWING TECH Cooling+ 1/4 zip pullover provides golfers with the performance of SWING TECH construction as well as cutting edge fabric that promotes rapid moisture wicking and superior sun protection.

3. Club Car Tempo Walk
www.clubcar.com

Meet Club Car’s Tempo™ Walk, a new hands-free robotic golf caddie unit, provides enjoyment for golfers who walk the course. The wireless, autonomous caddie is designed to enhance the golf experience and also foster health and wellness.

For fitness minded golfers and those who enjoy walking, Tempo Walk delivers a caddie-like experience different than traditional push carts, electric or otherwise. For course operators, it’s a fresh, functional and environmentally friendly cart option and experience to offer customers.
Blending tradition and technology similar to Club Car’s recently launched Tempo™ Connect golf car, Tempo Walk’s stylish hands-free golf caddie unit makes walking the course pleasant and easier than other push carts.

It offers state-of-the-art wireless technology including GPS yardage and hands-free remote control to maneuver easily around the course.

Constructed with a durable aluminum frame, Tempo Walk contains a lithium ion battery which holds a 36-hole charge. It moves up to seven mph and weighs 95 pounds. Additional technology features include a USB port and touchscreen tablet with GPS yardage. Traditional golf car offerings – a cup holder, cooler, divot repair and sand bottle, are also included. With a compact frame size, four Tempo Walk golf caddies can fit into the space of one golf car, another benefit for course operators.

4. PhiGolf  golf smartstick
https://www.phigolf.info/

I also saw this at CES.

Owning a simulator is a dream for golfers. It’s also a pricy dream, with most costing in the $40,000 range. But those on a budget don’t have to be denied the pleasures of such an experience thanks to PhiGolf.
PhiGolf is a smart stick that serves as the golf club, capable of connecting to a smartphone or TV. Golfers can not just use this for entertainment (there are several game modes, including 18 holes, match play, driving range or closest-to-the-pin), but the stick also provides data and analysis of your swing and stroke. All which can be yours for $249.

5. FlightScope Introduces World’s First Environmental Optimizer Feature to its X3 Tracking Radar
www.flightscope.com

Leader in sports technology unveils first-of-its-kind feature, allowing golfers to practice for various environmental conditions

FlightScope, a world leader in the development and manufacturing of 3D Doppler tracking radars for sports, announces today the launch of the world’s first Environmental Optimizer (FS|EO), giving golfers a new way to analyze, practice and improve their game. FlightScope’s new innovative component for the X3 tracking radar gives users the ability to configure environmental conditions, without physically changing locations – meaning golfers who typically practice in flat, low altitudes, and vice versa, can now practice smarter and see how their shot would match up against an entirely different environmental climate.

6.   Sun Mountain's FinnCycle
www.sunmountain.com

Forget golf and push carts, you can now use a motor bike to get around the course,
It travels at 15 miles per hour, the same speed that a golf cart travels. Your clubs are held in place in the middle of the bike with supports and straps. It will fit pretty much any bag other than a staff bag; Sun Mountain’s biggest cart bag fits. Rest your feet on the footbeds, and control your speed with a small thumb lever on the right handlebar. Both the right and left handlebars have breaks, and there’s kickstand to keep the bike upright while you’re hitting.

Besides being fun to ride around on, FinnCycle’s benefits extend to pace of play. In testing, the team at Sun Mountain found it easy to play 18 holes in under two hours. Obviously, that’s reliant on not having to wait on play in front of you. Right now, it’s not available for individual consumers to buy. They’re selling to golf courses as well as fleet sales.

Limpert Tech on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio 1/5/19 - CES 2019 Preview

The Consumer Electronics Show, CES is the largest tradeshow and convention in the world.
It all happens this coming week in Las Vegas.
CES is the world's gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for 50 years — the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace.
Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it attracts the world's business leaders and pioneering thinkers.

Rick is here to give a preview of what may be hot at CES 2019, so have a listen:
1.  CES by the numbers... the numbers are staggering

2.  Tech for the Aging Population
Health gadgets aren’t just for the young. The elderly population is a growing business opportunity, and the category of “aging tech” now includes everything from smart hearing aids to connected toolkits for relatives with dementia. It’s an important area with plenty of problems to solve, but some of the biggest problems with caretaking are social, and the highest-tech gadget won’t do a thing if your grandmother refuses to use it.
Everyone grows old, but Americans are growing older more quickly. The number of Americans over 65 will double by 2060, according to a 2016 report by the Population Research Bureau, and the elderly are living longer, too. According to the Society of Actuaries, if a woman on a pension plan lives past 65, she will, on average, live to be 87.6 years; for men, that number is 85.6 years. “There are already risk managers and insurance people telling people out there to plan to live to 95,” says Laurie Orlov, the founder of Aging in Place Technology Watch. There is a place for technology here, though perhaps some of these companies haven’t thought through their concepts quite enough.
There will alert products at CES. Products also to prevent falls, medical issues, taking medication and more.

3. 8K TVs
4K and HDR tech are pretty much standard. Smart TVs, always a hot topic at CES, are still a mess of irrelevance since the TV is always secondary to the sticks, dongles, and boxes we connect to them, and creating smarts where it counts. One thing that consumers will always understand, though, is more pixels.
And that's why we're going to hear a lot about 8K at CES 2019. Let's be real: A TV with 7,680 x 4,320 resolution is a visual absurdity — there's no way you'd come close to seeing individual pixels at anything resembling a normal viewing distance.
4. Tech for Improving your Health
This may be the CES to attend to stay healthy.
Sleep technology, for example, encompasses everything from mattresses to white noise devices to dedicated sleep wearables. Air purifiers are embracing smart tech and new form factors to convince more people to make them part of their lives. Technology for improving your health is changing from specialized medical devices for specific conditions to consumer lifestyle products everyone can benefit from, one category at a time.
5.  5G
5G is already here (Verizon and AT&T both have — extremely limited — active networks), but we're still weeks if not months away from smartphones that can take advantage of them. And even when those phones arrive, the transition isn't as simple as turning on a 5G modem.
Nonetheless, 2019 is poised to become the Year of 5G, and they hype train begins at CES, at least as far as consumers are concerned. If all goes well, CES 2019 will show the world what 5G will do for us besides just giving us faster smartphones. More secure smart-home devices, battery-operated remote sensors, and reliable tele-health apps.
6. Non traditional companies at CES
Insurance companies like Allstate
The Girl Scouts
Robots
Automotive companies
Apparel companies
Adult oriented companies
