$35,000 to tour Bill Gates' Home, Evander wishes he thought of that
Last week, some sap paid $35,000 to tour Bill Gates' Lake Washington home with a small group of friends, guided by Gates, with appetizers at the end. The money went to charity as part of Microsoft's annual charity campaign. At first this blurb just was something I read in passing. Upon further review, I started thinking of other celebrity types with big homes who could possibly offer guided tours of their compounds as a possible secondary or primary revenue stream. Someone like Evander Holyfield, who apparently needs the money could've generated possible hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue for tours of his expansive estate south of Atlanta. With this extra income, the Champ could've kept his house out of foreclosure, or possibly got ahead with child support on his numerous children. Picture this, a guided tour with "The Real Deal" followed by maybe some chicken wings, or even better, a cook out on his George Foreman Grill. Lindsay Lohan is going through some rough times right now. I'm not sure if she is living in her house or a hotel room right now, but I'm sure many people would ante up for a tour of her house. Seeing as her movie career has died off, she would need the extra income, and she could bill it as a chance to see how Lindsay and Sam lived, the rooms where they fought and at the conclusion of the tour visitors could pass through a giftshop which would be run by her Father, Michael Lohan. As a bonus the tour-goers would have a good chance to be on TMZ, or even better have their pictures in The Enquirer. It's true, Enquiring minds do want to know. Just some ideas that have been floating around in my head. I wonder if Bill Gates' tour comes with a free install of Windows 7?
