Federer down but not out

Roger Federer fell in the second round of the Paris Masters event yesterday.  After losing  3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 to Julien Benneteau of France, would you expect Federer to be angry or distraught.  The answer is no, and Federer took it in stride.

Always trying to look on the bright side, he said this early exit will give him more time to prepare for the year end event in London.

The truth is, what happens here at the end of a long year doesn't even matter to Federer.  Even winning events wouldn't be icing on the cake.  He has gotten more out of this year than even he thought he would.  He is enoying it, and he deserves a nice break.  He'll start thinking about The Australian Open is a couple months.
