Neighborwoods Etches Your City on Wood

This company has "got wood."

And your city etched on it.

If you love vintage maps, this might be for you. There is something magical about hand-drawn and hand-lettered maps. So Neighborwoods was created.

Hand-drawn and laser engraved into unfinished aromatic cedar, Neighborwoods capture the story of your city, including all of its neighborhoods and key statistics. The cedar's natural wood grain characteristics set off the engraved typography and hand-drawn details.

Every map is unique, just like your treasured stories from your neighborhood. Keep an eye out for more releases in the near future.

Welcome to the Neighborwood!

Vegetarian McDonalds Coming to India

One veggie location will be based in the Sikh holy city of Amritsar in northern India and another in Katra near the Vaishno Devi cave shrine in Indian Kashmir, said spokeswoman Becca Hary in a statement.

The chain expanded into India through New Delhi and Mumbai in 1996. Many Indians avoid meat – especially beef and pork – for religious reasons.

At the fewer than 300 McDonald’s locations around India, the potato-based McAloo Tikki burger is the runaway bestseller. The Maharaja Mac, which is made from chicken, and the McSpicy Paneer are also popular.

“McDonald’s respects local cultures and has adapted our menu and dining experiences to local preferences,” Hary said. “In India, our McDonald’s kitchens have always been divided into separate sections for cooking vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and the restaurants there do not sell beef or pork.”

Suspended Because of Rain

I'm not even going to say the "roof" word.

More rain in New York has delayed the matches.

The second rain delay of the day and the longest of the Open so far sent fans scrambling for cover and the match between Maria Sharapova and Marion Bartoli was suspended and postponed until Wednesday. That's great news for Sharapova, who was being blitzed out of the open by Bartoli. The Frenchwoman, was on her game and led 4-0 when the rains came.

The rest of the singles matches were simply delayed or postponed and they will try to be back in action during the day session on Wednesday.

Packers Top First NFL Power Poll

Packers sit at the top of the week 1 poll.

I think San Fran and Philly might be too high and the Jets and Carolina might be too low.  We'll see.

Man Ends up Eating Counterfeit $50 Bills

In Buffalo, a 35-year-old man tried to swallow several counterfeit $50 bills after he was caught trying to use the bogus money at a western New York amusement park.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to Darien Lake Theme Park and Resort on Sunday night after Larry Jones, of Buffalo, bought french fries with a $50 bill.

Security officers retrieved the bills before Jones swallowed them.

Jones was charged with possessing a forged instrument and tampering with evidence and sent to the county jail with no bail.
