Octopus Learns to Clean his Own Tank

Jock the octopus has taken a real shine to his Scottish home – he’s learned to clean his own tank.

His tidying talents have made him the star attraction at his aquarium.

Amazed visitors have watched him wipe his tank with a cloth. And he also rearranges his toys and cleans his own gravel.

The octopus – now nicknamed Jock the janitor – took up tidying after watching staff at Loch Lomond Aquarium wipe his glass.

They use a cloth with magnets so they could wipe the inside of the tank from the outside.

Leigh Hotson, displays supervisor at the aquarium in Balloch, Dunbartonshire, said: “When I started to clean Jock’s window, he grabbed hold of the inside cloth and took over.

“I think he’s intrigued by its limpet-like behaviour but he now cleans his window. He gives it a good scrub.”

Jock, who is a giant Pacific octopus, also tidies up after meals, putting crab shells in a neat pile.

The Beach Boys Rocket Up the Charts

What year is this, 1965?

I guess it doesn't matter, but this one of the comeback stories of the year.

The Beach Boys' new album is sitting on top of the charts and their tour is selling out from coast to coast.

And it's good.

"That's Why God Made the Radio" was released this week and it will soon be No. 1 on the charts.  It's the same timeless melodies we've come to expect from Mike Love, Brian Wilson and Co.

The song writing on this album is strong and these guys can still sing and play.

I had a brush with The Beach Boys back in 2002, I beleive.  I was having breakfast at the Hyatt in Downtown Dallas when a couple guys in Hawaiian shirts parked themselves at the table next to me.  I thought nothing of it, until I recognized one of the guys and it was Mike Love, eating his oatmeal.

They were doing a concert in Dallas that day and they couldn't have been nicer.  Lengends of American music, good guys and a great story.

It's worth a listen and a purchase.

Bob Welch: Singer of 70's Hits "Sentimental Lady" and "Ebony Eyes" Dies

Bob Welch, not the baseball pitcher who spent time with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland A's, but the 70's singer of such hits like "Sentimental Lady" and "Ebony Eyes" and who spent time playing with Fleetwood Mac passed away today at the age of 65.

Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham even did backing vocals on "Sentimental Lady."

It was said he had recent health issues.

Talented guy and some catchy music if you like the 70's.

My Appearance on Last Week's "Brilliant Mobile Marketing"

Back on May 29, I joined Mobile Mary to talk about sports marketing, tech and trends on her weekly show.

Mary is a delight and even though she isn't big into sports, she was able to grasp that much of the tech we use everyday came out of the sports world.

You can listen here:  It's the May 29 show.
