Kindle Pick of the Week: Fulfilling the Dream: My Path to Leadership and Finding Purpose in Serving Others

Fulfilling the Dream: My Path to Leadership and Finding Purpose in Serving Others is an honest, eye-opening, and inspiring book about setting aside personal ego and ignoring racial and political bias to bless and benefit others. Wayman Britt's story is a tale of believing one's dreams, realizing them and then dedicating his life to helping others imagine and achieve better lives.

In this insightful read, Britt candidly shares his personal account of growing up poor during the Jim Crow era of racial discrimination, and the hard work, determination and faith in God that propelled him through challenges, disappointments, and setbacks to achieve success in life. He takes readers through his quest to open the American Dream to people long excluded and relates lessons and experiences of competing at the highest levels in athletics, corporate culture, government, and politics that are especially relevant to our own lives and the most sensitive cultural issues of our times.

The compelling account of growing up poor and later finding his life mission as a leader in business and government will inspire the reader to achieve personal success while having a positive impact on others. Being successful and living a passionate life of service sounds counterintuitive--Britt's story proves it is not. His story proves nice guys not only don't have to finish last, but they can also finish first.

This book will benefit several important audiences with the common denominator of interest in true accounts of living the Black experience and overcoming obstacles to get the most out of their potential.

Odds on Olympics

Team U.S.A are the odds-on favorites to take home the most medals in the 2021 Olympics, according to betting industry analysts at USsportsbonus.com (See Disclaimer Below). America holds 1/10 odds to win the most medals (90.9% implied probability), followed by China at 4/1 (20%) and the Russian Olympic Committee at 20/1 (4.8%).

“With the 2021 Tokyo Olympics marking the first summer games with widespread legalized sports betting in the U.S., oddsmakers are anticipating large amounts of activity, while networks are likely to relish in improved television ratings thanks to an increase in public interest as a result of Americans placing bets,” says US Sportsbonus gambling industry analyst Jay Sanin. “Nevada saw a $3 million increase in betting during the summer 2016 compared to 2015, but the sophistication of mobile sports betting since then could see bigger increases in states this summer.”

The strongest American favorites are in men’s and women’s swimming events. Katie Ledecky is the 1/7 favorite to win the 1,500m freestyle (87.5% implied probability) and the 5/16 favorite to win the 800m freestyle (76.2%). For the men, Caeleb Dressel is the 10/55 favorite to win the 100m butterfly (84.6%), and the 10/43 favorite to win the 50m freestyle (81.1%).

American athletes are also primed to win three of the new sports being added in the 2021 Olympics. The U.S.A. Women’s 3x3 basketball team are 11/10 favorites to win gold (47.6% implied probability), followed by France at 5/2 (28.6%). Nyjah Huston is the 1/1 favorite to win the skateboarding street competition (50%). Carissa Moore is the 2/1 favorite to win the individual gold for women’s surfing (33.3%).

American track star Noah Lyles is also the odds-on favorite to win gold in the 200m. His odds are currently 57/100 (63.7% implied probability).
