Middle East Gets a Cheeseburger Ringed Pizza

Move over Heart Attack Grill.

Pizza Hut Middle East has a brand new thing. It's a pizza with mini cheeseburgers in the crust.  As a bonus,  they've added fried chicken things as crust. It's called the Crown Crust Pizza, and I don't know what to think.

I do wonder how it tastes.

Starbucks Opens First Juice Bar

Starbucks Corp opened the first store in its new Evolution Fresh juice bar chain on Monday, its biggest move outside of the coffee realm yet.

Health drinks are big right now and kudos to Starbucks for trying to put their own spin on the juice bar concept.

The first shop, located in an upscale shopping area in Bellevue, Washington, is an affluent city just east of Seattle, will be watched very closely by Starbucks executives and analysts.

"Mixologists" at the new shop dispense a variety of juices - including apple, coconut water, carrot and beet - from taps to create "hand crafted" concoctions with names like "sweet burn" and "field of greens". The 8-ounce drinks sell for $4.99 and the 16-ounce drinks are priced at $7.99.  A tad bit pricey?

Fresh fruit and vegetable juices have gained in popularity in the United States with some health-conscious consumers using them as meal replacements, while others drink them as part of "cleansing" diets.

The world's biggest coffee chain bought Evolution Fresh for $30 million in cash in November to get a piece of that business.

Rush Limbaugh Loses Advertisers and Stations

With his absurd comments last week, radio host Rush Limbaugh is still feeling the fallout this week.

Although Limbaugh has issued a rare apology, the problem that had erupted when the conservative radio host called an activist law student a “slut” and a “prostitute” showed no sign of cooling early this week.

More advertisers pulled out today.  The count now stands at 17, plus or minus.

The list now includes: Geico, Netflix, Service Magic home contractor, Goodwill, Amberen menopause medication, PolyCom web conferencing, Hadeed Carpets, Accuquote Life Insurance, Vitacost vitamin supplier, Bonobos clothing company, Sensa weight- loss program, Thompson Creek Windows, AOL, Tax Resolution Services, ProFlowers, Legal Zoom online document creator, Carbonite web security firm, Citrix software maker, Sleep Train Mattresses, Sleep Number mattresses and Quicken Loans.

What might be of more concern to the Limbaugh camp is now a list of stations dropping Rush is also forming.

WBEC in Pittsfield, Mass., joined KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii, in dropping the syndicated radio show, with some others possibly to follow.

"His comments were outrageous," WBEC General Manager Peter Barry told The Berkshire Eagle. "There's no reason to resort to derogatory comments."

Something is Brewing With This Kickstarter Project

This microbrewery in Mississippi needs your help.

We need your help to KickStart the Brewery!

We aren't doing this project to become wildly rich (which brewers usually are not). We are doing this because the Jackson area needs and deserves a local brewery and we can't imagine doing anything else with our lives. We understand that it is one thing to have a dream and another to have the pieces in place to execute it. With over ten years of combined brewing experience and a full year of serious planning we are confident that we have good business sense to not just reach for our dream but to make it a success.
