Paris Hilton Told to Leave Japan

Paris Hilton was not allowed to stay in Japan today, two days after she pleaded guilty to a drug charge in Las Vegas.

Japan has strict immigration laws that bar entry to those convicted of drug offences, although exceptions are occasionally granted.

"I'm going back home, and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future," Hilton told reporters before departing on her private jet.

The 29-year-old celebrity socialite had been due to appear today at a news conference in Tokyo to promote her fashion and fragrance lines. She arrived yesterday evening, but was stopped at the airport and spent the night at an airport hotel after being questioned by officials.

A Japanese immigration official said Hilton was denied entry after a total of about six hours of questioning.

She also abruptly cancelled planned appearances in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Jakarta, Indonesia.

Paris Hilton Detained in Japan

Japanese authorities are doing what U.S. authorities should've done long ago, and possibly kick her out of the country.

They are trying to decide whether she will be admitted to the country after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor drug charge in Las Vegas.

An e-mailed statement by Hilton's rep, Dawn Miller, said the 29-year-old was stopped by immigration authorities upon her arrival Tuesday in Japan.

Hilton was scheduled to appear at a news conference in Tokyo on Wednesday to promote her fashion line, but that appearance was apparently canceled.

Narita Airport's immigration office questioned Hilton "for hours" to determine if she should be allowed to enter the country, the Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau said, according to Japan's Kyodo news agency.

Authorities adjourned questioning and asked Hilton to stay at a hotel in the airport so they could continue immigration procedures Wednesday, Kyodo reported. There was no answer at the immigration office early Wednesday morning.

Under Japanese law, immigration authorities are empowered to deny entry to those who have been convicted of drug-related offenses.

On this trip,  Paris was scheduled to visit several other countries, including Indonesia and Malaysia.

The Father, Son, and Holy Toast

This gives all new meaning to "your morning bread."

How about this?  A Vermont company is doing something nobody has even done with toast.   They are offering a toaster that will burn an image of Christ on to your toast. For $39.95, the inventor Galen Dively III will sell you one of these unique toasters. He said he got the idea, not in a dream, but when a Florida woman sold a grilled-cheese sandwich with the Virgin Mary's face on it.

Mr. Dively said he plans to offer toasters with other religious symbols and icons on them. A Star of David imprint is currently in the works as is one of the Virgin Mary.

If you are inspired, head on over to www.jesustoasters.com to get yours.

Man Shows up Drunk at Intoxication Hearing

A Gwinnett County (GA)  is being accused of showing up drunk to a hearing at the city's municipal court to answer to previous public intoxication charges.

Police charged 49-year-old Phillip Ingram with being under the influence at City Hall.

An officer believed he smelled alcohol coming from Ingram Tuesday. Ingram was checking in at Lawrenceville Municipal Court on a public intoxication charge about 1 p.m.

The officer confronted Ingram and police say a breath analysis later registered his blood alcohol level at .14, nearly twice the limit for driving.

Well, so much for that hearing.

47 Burritos in 10 Minutes

I know what happens to me when I eat one burrito, but how about eating 47?

Competitive eater Joey Chestnut is now king of the burrito, and eating in general.

Chestnut, also known as "Jaws," downed 47 burritos in 10 minutes at the New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque on Saturday, beating the previous record of 33 1/2.

Known for his hot-dog eating, Chestnut won the annual July Fourth hot dog eating contest at New York's Coney Island for the fourth year in a row this summer.

Chestnut, of San Jose, Calif., won $1,500 for the feat in New Mexico Saturday. The burritos in the Garcia's World Burrito Eating Championship were stuffed with beef, beans and the state's famous green chile.
