NBA Draft: What to Watch For

This week's NBA Draft.

March Madness Good for CBS

CBS dominated Friday with the second night of NCAA hoops tournament play; 3-hour coverage scored a 1.2 demo rating and 4.46 million viewers. Early morning stats showed a 10% drop from 8-11 PM in metered market household ratings compared to year ago, but those very early stats are subject to significant adjustments later in day.

The shocking game that did not air on CBS didn’t help the numbers, as TNT showed 16th-seeded University of Maryland-Baltimore County’s win over top-seeded Virginia.

Upsets may be good for the moment, but can hurt ratings in the next rounds when the Blue Bloods are eliminated.

My Final Four Picks

How about some picks for the NCAA National Semifinals.

First up, UConn and Florida.

I don't think UConn can stop the Gators from scoring and if the Huskies aren't perfect on offense, they will get beat by 10+ points. Take Florida.

The a more intriguing game in Kentucky and Wisconsin.

It's a game of contrasts, but if Kentucky's talent keeps playing like they can, it's going to be Vlue winning the game and setting up an all-SEC fian lgame on Monday night.

So your winners are: Florida and Kentucky

Thursday NCAA Tournament Play of the Day

The Louisville Cardinals

The University of Louisville takes on Morehead St. in a first round NCAA Tournament game on Thursday.

What a missmatch here.  I'm surprised the line is only Louisville -9.5.

With both teams hailing from Kentucky, they actually have played four times in the past seven years.  Louisville has never won by fewer than 20 points.

To add insult to injury and make my point even stronger, Louisville is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

Go with Rick Pittino, Preston Knowles and the Cardinals if you want a big win on Thursday.
