David Bays Jet Car Crash at NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indy

The NHRA broke out the jet cars for some exhibition races this weekend at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

In this video, it's hard to see, but the Friday night qualifications wrap up with two jet cars and the INCENERATOR driven by David Bays on the far side (right lane) looses control at the end of track and goes over wall.

He amazingly walked away from the crash.  I'll update if I get better video of this crash.

I love how these cars warm up.

Jeff Diehl's NHRA Funny Car Crash in Las Vegas

Anytime Jeff Diehl gets strapped into an NHRA Funny Car anything can happen.  Diehl has blown engines, caught on fire and has had violent crashes.

He had a little bit of everything last night during qualifying for the NHRA event in Las Vegas.

Diehl hits the right wall, catches on fire, and then stumbles out of what remains of his car when it stops, thankful to be intact himself.

Diehl did not qualify for the event finals to be run on Sunday.

UPS Cargo Plane Crashes in Dubai

A UPS cargo plane with two crew members on board crashed shortly after takeoff Friday outside Dubai, officials said. There was no immediate word on casualties.

The plane went down inside an Emirati air base near a busy highway intersection about 10 miles southeast of Dubai's international airport. The state news agency WAM reported the crash occurred in an unpopulated desert area, suggesting there may not have been casualties on the ground.

UPS spokeswoman Kristen Petrella said the Boeing 747-400 went down at about 8 p.m. in Dubai (12 p.m. EST). Flight 6 was en route to the UPS hub in Cologne, Germany, she said. Petrella said the plane had two crew members but the company has not confirmed any casualties.
