New Zealand Hot Air Balloon Crash Kills 11
I knew there was something I didn't like about hot air balloons.
A hot air balloon crash in New Zealand early Saturday killed 11 people -- the pilot and 10 passengers.
No one survived the crash, which happened on the outskirts of Carterton, a town northeast of Wellington.
A fire likely started on board the balloon, sending it plummeting to the ground, said Superintendent Mike Rusbatch, Wellington District commander for New Zealand Police.
It was not immediately clear what started the fire, though eyewitnesses said the balloon had hit a power line, according to police.

The rotor blades hit a part of a building and the chopper starts to fold up immediately.
Death Toll Still Unknown at Reno Air Races
A racing plane plunged into the stands at an air race event in Reno in what an official described as a "mass casualty situation."
It wasn't immediately known how many people were killed. But video of the crash showed a horrific scene of bodies and wreckage at the front of the stands.
The National Championship Air Races draws thousands of people every year in September to watch various military and civilian planes race.
Kind of ironic, but earlier this week, race officials posted this video of how fans could stay safe and healthy at the races. This ended up being a little more serious than a sunburn.
