Dolphins on 'Hard Knocks'

HBO has found their victim.

After looking at many different teams, HBO announced Tuesday that the Dolphins would be the newest subject of its popular reality series documenting NFL training camps. The seventh season premieres Aug. 7, with four more one-hour episodes airing on subsequent Tuesdays.

Coming off a 6-10 season, Miami has a new coach in Joe Philbin and many new players.

What does this mean for football fans?

We'll learn more about the Miami Dolphins than we ever cared to know and we'll probably have ample opportunity to catch glimpses of Dolphin's QB Ryan Tannehill's wife.

''Hard Knocks'' was not produced last year because of the NFL lockout.

'Eastbound and Down' Character Featured on Car at Daytona

Leave it to Kenny Powers to hit the track at Daytona.

HBO's Eastbound and Down will sponsor a NASCAR Nationwide Series car – the No. 50 driven by T.J. Bell – in Saturday's DRIVE4COPD 300 race at Daytona International Speedway.

To promote the 3rd season of Eastbound, the #50 Eastbound & Down / Make Motorsports Chevrolet will show off elements of lead character Kenny Powers’ prized jet ski, The Panty Dropper, with a purple and leopard-print scheme, as well as the likeness of the legend himself, who also hails from Shelby, N.C.

“The name and likeness of Kenny Powers have long been associated with victory and success,” said Powers. “It’s pretty obvious why somebody would want to put a giant picture of my face on a tastefully decorated stock car."

“Best of luck to our driver, T.J. Bell. If he doesn’t win first place at Daytona, they must not have made that picture of my face big enough.”

Another Casualty of Lockout; "Hard Knocks"

No NFL team will be on the popular HBO series "Hard Knocks" this summer.

HBO said Friday the uncertainty of the lockout "made it impractical for a team to commit" to its yearly training camp reality show. The series is set to return next year.

The network will broadcast a 10th anniversary special Aug. 31 looking back at past "Hard Knocks": Baltimore Ravens (2001), Dallas Cowboys (2002, 2008), Kansas City Chiefs (2007), Cincinnati Bengals (2009) and New York Jets (2010).
