Australian Open Day 14: Match of the Day

The men's finals featuring Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

This is the 30th meeting between these two.

The stats show that Djokovic has not lost to Nadal since the end od 2011 at the ATP Finals.

They played last year at Wimbledon, they played last year at the U.S. Open.  All won by Djokovic.

I see Djokovic winning again in this one.

He wins the big points and raises his games at the right moments.  Nadal has had an extra day's rest, but the way the courts are playing and the way the tennis has gone.  Look for Djokovic to win in 4 tough sets.

Wimbledon Men's Finals

A Wimbledon Gentlemen's Finals between the current #1 in the world vs. the #1 in the World come Monday morning, no matter who wins.  It's Breakfast at Wimbldon, and it's the best two tennis players in the world.

They've player a whopping 27 times and Nadal holds a 16-11 edge.  Nadal is looking for his third Wimbledon crown and both players are looking for their second Grand Slam title of 2011.

Djokovic has won the big points all year long, but Nadal has been showing the world how to win on grass with huge driving forehands and never taking a point off.

It's hard to beat someone who doesn' take points off and is playing like he in on a mission.

Prediction:  Nadal gets the win in 4 tough sets.

Wimbledon Day 8 Match of the Day: Nadal vs. Del Potro

Third match on Centre Court for Monday will be this one that could be a classic.  Rafael Nadal vs. Juan Martin Del Potro.

Nadal gets the edge in most categories and I think he will ultimately win the match, but I like watching these two guys play so much.

Nada; holds the career edge 5-3 over DelPo, and won the only meeting on grass back in 2007.

I like a 4-setter of high quality tennis and great shot making.  Should be fun.

Bonus pick:  The Murray/Gasquet mach could be excellent as well.
