Radio Shack Offering iPhones for $24

From now until December 11, your local RadioShack is holding an unprecedented sale on the Apple iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. It is knocking $50 off the contract price, dropping the 32GB model to $249, the 16GB model to $149, and the iPhone 3GS down to just $49.

Those are the lowest prices from any legitimate, authorized retailer for the iPhone 4 and 3GS.

RadioShack also has a trade-in program that will drop prices further. If current iPhone users trade in their iPhone 3G, they'll receive a credit of $75 (assuming the device works and has an unbroken screen). Customers who trade in an iPhone 3GS in working condition will receive a credit of $125.

Combining the $149 sale price with a $125 credit drops the effective price of the iPhone 4 16GB model to just $24, and the iPhone 4 32GB to $124 (not including taxes and fees).

It is only available at RadioShack's brick-and-mortar retail locations.

These prices are available to new AT&T customers, as well as to AT&T customers who are eligible for an upgrade. RadioShack says the promotion is meant to "boost awareness of its wireless business and create an edge up on the competition."

Should the Packers Throw Out the Throwback Jerseys?

It was turn back the clock day in Green Bay today.  Turn back the clock to the 1920's with these throwback uniforms the Packers wore today in their games against the 49ers.

These uniforms included a navy blue jersey uniforms with blue socks and a brown helmet, reminiscent of leather helmets.

I really don't know what to think of them, but I kind hope they are one and done with them.  Look back at some black & white pics of these uniforms, I guess they were brought into modern times a bit.

Even Packer's quarterback was a little skeptical about what he was going to wear.  I'm glad it didn't affect his play on the field.

"Since I got here I've been hoping for a throwback uniform game. You know, these are not what I was expecting but I am excited to be in the throwbacks this weekend," Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday.

Wearing a jersey like this gives fans a chance to reflect on the rich history of football in Green Bay.

"No other team in the league has anything like our history and tradition," said Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy. "And this was a great way to celebrate it."

The Packers celebrated with a victory today, that's all that matters.

First Significant Snow hits Chicago

The Chicago area charged head-on into full-fledged winter weather Saturday as the season's first snowstorm brought a general 3-7 inch snowfall to the area. Officially the city recorded 5.1 inches of snow at O'Hare International Airport, a record amount for the date, besting the 4.6 inches that fell here in1964. Areas  west and south of Chicago were even harder hit with up to 9 inches of snow blanketing areas in a band from Dubuque to Champaign.

A cold week is in store for the area with temperatures not expected to reach or break the freezing mark. With a fresh snow cover in place, overnight lows are forecast to plummet to single digits on several nights with coldest inland location flirting with zero.

With a northwest flow of arctic air sweeping across Lake Michigan the next few days, a major lake-effect snow is likely to bury portions of northern Indiana and southwest lower Michigan. Snow totals are expected to top two feet in some areas.

Looks like the Midwest is heading for a White Christmas.

The Amazing Race Flys to S. Korea in ‘I’m Surrounded By Ninjas’

Four teams are still alive, but by the end of this episode we'll be down to three.  For this episode, the teams travel to South Korea and will battle it out on water and ice to reach the finals.

Fatigue is setting in, and teamwork is going to be crucial.  Should be a great episode tonight.

Week 13: NFL Play of the Week

Yes, today it is the Dallas Cowboys.  Give new coach Jason Garrett a lot of credit for getting this team to play hard.  They may not be a playoff team, but they are better than the unit that was slaughtered by the Green Bay Packers a few short weeks ago.

Dallas getting 5.5 at Indy this week is a strong play.  Indy is hurting and Dallas will be ready for what the Colts throw at them.

Also, the Cowboys are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.  The Colts play well at home, but I cam see Dallas losing by a field goal as time expires, or winning the game.
