Butler's Matt Howard's Proud Parents

He's tough he's scrappy and he epitomizes Butler Basketball.

Of course I'm talking about Matt Howard, the Mr. Everything for the Bulldogs.

He's a great story and so are his parents who seem to be everywhere at the Final Four.

Here's an interview with The Howard's following their son's heroic performance against VCU.

Butler Cheerleaders Relax By the Pool at Final Four

One of the most underrated factors at this year's Final Four is the Butler Cheerleaders.

Not only does the basketball team from this small school of about 4,000 keep up on the court with the likes of Big East, Big 10 and SEC teams, they keep up in the cheerleading department as well.

One of the local Indiana stations covering the goings on at the Final Four did a feature on the cheer squad in Houston.  Looks like they are enjoying the Houston weather as they are spending most of their time relaxing at the pool.  By the looks of the pool, they sure don't get the luxurious accommodations that the basketball teams get.  Can you say Motel 6?

Butler's Mascot is in Houston

I love it when college teams have a real live animal as their mascot.  From UGA at Georgia to Ralphie at Colorado, you never know what these mascots will do.

Butler has a bulldog for a mascot, too.

His name is Blue II, and he spent Friday afternoon at Butler’s practice, where he was mobbed by fans, workers, and media, wanting pictures. Blue II wore a blue jersey with “B” on the chest and a Nike swoosh for good measure.  Blue II is the darling of the Final Four.

He wasn't allowed at the earlier rounds of the tourney, I'm not sure why.  But here's here in Houston, and let's all root for little ole Butler and hope every dog, or in this case bulldog has its day.

Butler Coach Brad Stevens is Calm, Cool and a Winner

Great interview here Brad Stevens did with the local media in Indiana.

This guy is amazing, he's so young but he's smart and introspective, but intense.  His team takes after him.

I hope they have a good showing this weekend.
