Do you like watching NFL football being played in the snow?
Looks like you will have that opportunity on Sunday at the Lions come to Green Bay.
Fans going to the game should leave a little extra time.
Lousy weather coupled with lingering road work in the area calls for extra caution among drivers Sunday, especially for the thousands heading to Sunday night's Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions game.
Snow is expected throughout most of the day, shifting mostly to freezing drizzle as evening sets in, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday’s high temperature will be about 35 degrees, and snow will begin in the midmorning. The National Weather Service expects between 2 and 3 inches in Green Bay during the day.
Snow in Green Bay is 6 inches below normal.
Looks like that will change tomorrow.
The Green Bay Packers announced plans for a price increase on stadium bowl tickets for the 2012 season Thursday.
The increase has a range from $3 to $5, depending on the section in the stadium bowl.
Invoices sent to season-ticket holders this week include a letter from Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy that discusses the increase.
“For the Packers, ticket revenue continues be an important component of our ability to remain financially competitive with the other 31 NFL teams,” Murphy said in the letter. “Our goal each year is to be at the league average in terms of our ticket prices. This increase maintains our position near the league average.”
Murphy also updated ticket holders on the expansion to Lambeau Field, the three-year project that features a new sound system, two new video boards and 6,700 additional seats in the south end zone.
Fifty thousand Green Bay Packers fans packed a frigid Lambeau Field on Tuesday to welcome back not only their team, but also the Lombardi trophy. When the team emerged from the tunnel these fans didn't care how cold it was.
Coach Mike McCarthy was among the last to walk out of the players' tunnel, holding high the gleaming silver trophy as fans screamed "Go Pack Go!" Those closest to the railing reached down from the stands to touch the coveted Super Bowl prize.
Dignitaries on hand included the Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker and Sen. Herb Kohl.
McCarthy thanked the fans for their support.
"You just keep bringing that passion and energy and we'll keep bringing the trophies home," McCarthy said. The fans roared their approval.
