Donald Driver Brings Mirror Ball Trophy to Green Bay

Green Bay Packer's wide receiver Donald Driver took home the coveted mirror ball trophy on the season finale of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.

He may have wrapped up the trophy Monday night during his country-themed freestyle dance. And he and pro partner Peta Murgatroyd repeated the feat Tuesday with his shirt-free cha-cha, earning a perfect 30 from the judges and a total of 89 for the two nights.

Driver adds to the list of football players who have had success on the show.

Driver defeated Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins, who was runner-up, and Latin actor and model William Levy to become the third football star (after Emmitt Smith and Hines Ward) to win on DWTS.

It's looking like next season's DWTS will feature stars from previous seasons.

Donald Driver Goes Country on DWTS

It was down tot he final 3 last night on "Dancing With the Stars."

William Levy, Katherine Jenkins and Donald Driver.

I think Driver stole the show.

The Green Bay Packer was at his very best on his first dance, an Argentine tango with scintillating lifts. One of the judges, Len Goodman complained it was too careful. But Carrie Ann Inaba loved it, and Bruno Tonioli said the dance was effective. Points: 29, with 9 from Goodman.

The freestyle dance was next.

Driver and partner, Peta Murgatroyd went country on a high-energy routine with exceptional lifts. She was remarkable in the way she moved through the routine, with Driver's help.  The crowd loved it and so did the judges.  Inaba said it was her favorite dance of the night. "Fantastic," Goodman ruled. Points: 30, more perfection.

Points awarded by judges on Monday night were: Jenkins 30, Levy 29 and Driver 29.  It's anyone's guess who will win.

The winner will be named in a two-hour extravaganza that starts at 9 p.m. Tuesday on ABC.

Donald Driver Hopes This Week's DWTS is an 'Instant Classic'

That would mean this week is Classical Music Week on Dancing With the Stars and it's an important week for the remaining dancers.

Donald Driver and Peta will have their work cut out for them as the other teams are showing improvement.

It's the stretch run, call it the 4th quarter for a football player like DD, so he knows he needs to be mistake-free while raising the bar on their routines.

The man usually does a lot of the leading during Classical Music Week, so Donald needs to be right on the mark.

I think he's getting better and better even though his scores are all over the board.

'Latin Week' is Next Test For Donald Driver on DWTS

Donald Driver will tackle the Argentine Tango this week as "Dancing With the Stars" brings out Latin Week.

Driver and his partner will dance last this week, which is always good.

The Green Bay Packer wide receiver had his best result last week in Rock Week and he's hoping there is some carry over.

He needs to be sharp with the Argentine Tango and show off his agility and strength while continuing to play up to the audience.

With Packer fans voting in force, he should move on easily this week.
