Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio 10/17/20 - Dr. Mary Clifton talking COVID-19, Facemasks and Boomer Naturals

Great to be joined on iHeartRadio by Dr. Mary Clifton this week.

Have a listen:

Mary Clifton, M.D. is a board-certified, licensed, internal medicine doctor practicing in Manhattan. She is a recognized expert in cannabinoids and the ECS and is the founder of CBDandCannabisInfo.com and the highly respected professional certification course, The Cannabinoid Protocol. She provides specialized consultation on patient and provider education, telemedicine and cannabinoids and terpenes, and has worked with several pharmaceutical corporations on areas of product development, speaker’s bureau, spokesperson, telemedicine, medical and scientific directorship.

With Halloween just around the corner, and with COVID-19 still lurking, how can Americans ensure that their kids can still have fun trick-or-treating without the fear of catching or spreading the virus? While the average fashion face masks only protect from 5% of airborne particles, there’s a mask that will ward off 99.99%, making them the best (and safest) option for worry-free trick-or-treating. Made by Boomer Naturals, these masks are triple layered and rely on the latest technology to ensure their masks are the best and safest non-medical masks on the planet. Masks are infused with nano-silver fibers (yes, real silver!) to help fight viruses, including the Coronavirus.

They’re literally a “fortress for your kids’ face” on Halloween!

Some great tips from Mary!

U.S. consumers are expected to spend an average of $82.93, up from last year’s $74.34, with more than 171 million Americans planning to partake in Halloween festivities this year.

Rick and Sully scare up the latest Halloween Tech:

1.  AtmosFX - Projector and scenes to decorate your house

www.atmosfx.com

A couple years ago, I was excited to feature the AtmosFX projector and Halloween scenes on my Halloween tech TV and Radio segments. (FOX, CBS  and more) The response was overwhelming. When people see the possibilities, they are immediately drawn to what AtmosFX offers. Imagine, no more streamers, plastic pumpkins and tacky fake scarecrows.

Now I'm just as excited to feature what is new and improved for 2017.

As the highest-quality standard-definition (SD) projector kit on the market, it packs everything you need to create stunningly original displays for Halloween, Christmas, and celebrations year round. 2. Pyro Pets

A candle that when the wax melts, a spooky skeleton appears...  about $30

A sinister silhouette starts to emerge. Just a hint. A flickering shadow looming beneath the surface. Then, as the wax begins to melt, a menacing flame-scorched creature rears its demonic head, with sharpened teeth and fire blazing in its eyes.

Slowly but surely the cute geometric kitten exterior is eroded away and all that remains is a haunting metallic skeleton stood ominously in a pool of wax. So why not sit this malevolent moggie up on your mantelpiece and bring a little evil ambiance into your home.

Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on Radio 105.7 - Halloween Tech Safety Tips

While Halloween is an exciting time for kids, it can be a nerve-racking time for parents, with safety being their top priority. Gone are the days of turning your children loose in the neighborhood to go door-to-door without a safety plan in place.

Some tech safety tips for Halloween

Have a listen:

1.  Don't Let Kids Go Alone and Carry Flashlights

Children under the age of 12 should never be turned loose to go door-to-door without adult supervision.  It’s always best to go out in groups and stay in the neighborhoods you are most familiar with using the sidewalk and remaining on well lit streets as you navigate the neighborhood.
Kids should carry flashlights with fresh batteries or glow sticks so they are visible to cars and motorcycles.  Include reflector tape on the bottoms of shoes for added protection.

2.  RedPanicButton.com

Are you in distress? Do you feel threatened? Don’t panic!
Just push THE RED PANIC BUTTON!

The app will immediately send an SMS and an E-MAIL containing your GPS coordinates in a Google Maps link to all your emergency contacts! Get out of trouble, find your child or help others with only ONE button push on your phone screensaver!

3.  If You Need to Check Out Your Neighbors

Make sure you know the neighborhood and who lives there. You can do a quick search on BeenVerified.com to see if your new neighbors have any skeletons in their closet.

The most popular times to trick-or-treat are 5:30-9:30pm. There is safety in numbers, so it is best to stick to these times when canvasing the neighborhood.

4.  Be Mindful of Dogs and Carry Dog Treats to Make 4-legged Friends

- Dogs don't like Halloween and Halloween Costumes.

Beware of dogs you don’t know and advise kids not to pet dogs you meet along the trick-or-treat route. Dogs can be nervous around little kids, especially ones dressed like ghouls and goblins. Have someone in your group carry dog treats to make friends.

5.  Dcorate your Kids’ Costumes and Candy Bags with Reflective Tape

One type is

3M Scotchlite Reflective Tape, Silver, 1-Inch by 36-Inch

You should decorate your kids’ costumes and candy bags with reflective tape to make them more visible on the dark streets.

WGST's "The Sully Show" for 10/30/15 - Macon and Halloween Apps

Rick is in Macon, GA all this week once again. He is the media coordinator for the Tennis Classic of Macon, a women's professional tennis tournament- think of it as the Triple-A of the tennis circuit. It's a stone's throw away from the big tennis tours. You find young players, former college All-Americans and come veteran pros working their way up the rankings. Rick is there for all 9 days of the play and the action is taking place at the tennis center at Mercer University.

But also with Halloween here this weekend, there are a number of apps that can keep you and your family safe while trick-or-treating.

Remember that Halloween is all about having fun, but in the world we live in, one must take safety precautions. Here are some "app" ideas that AT&T is kind enough to provide.

Have a listen:

1.  iHandy Flashlight app

Download any free Flashlight app, like iHandy Flashlight app so you and your child’s device can be used as a bright light or beacon for easy navigation. The app allows some customization of the light, so users have some options.

2.   RedPanic Button App

You may also want to try the RedPanic Button app. Put to your child’s device not only for added peace-of-mind, but for the very fact that they can send out a text message with their exact coordinates that comes through on Google Maps to family members. The distress signal can also be posted on Facebook or Twitter. RedPanic offers quite a bit for a free app.

3.  AT&T's Family Map

Also, be able to track your little trick-or-treater with a location-based service, like FamilyMap from AT&T. This powerful app lets you see and track the location of your child’s device on an interactive and real-time map from your smartphone, PC or tablet.

4.   Life360

Life360 is a free app that allows users to create private groups, and communicate via group chat. It also sends notifications when members check into places and users can even set boundary limits.

If your Android phone or tablet seems boring with the same old apps, then today is a good day to give it a boost with some new apps and games. Amazon is hosting a “Scary Good Deals” sale to celebrate Halloween. There are 33 apps and games valued at over $70.

Some of the notable apps include Runtastic Pro (reg $5), Splashtop Remote Desktop (reg $5), and AVG AntiVirus Pro (reg $12). Gamers will also love the selection which includes Lego Star Wars Microfighters (reg $1), Airport Mania 2 (reg $5), and Huebrix (reg $1).

6.  Facebook

If you maybe have a teenager making the rounds to various friend's houses on Halloween, Facebook can be an asset if you have then "check in" at the locations they hit.
