Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 - The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

While attending Adobe Summit in Las Vegas last week, Rick has the opportunity to stay at the high tech and centrally located... THE COSMOPOLITAN of LAS VEGAS

See more at: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/

From gambling to eating to relaxing and the best rooms in Las Vegas, it's The Cosmopolitan that now sets the standards in so many ways, in Las Vegas.

The resort opened on December 15, 2010, and is located just south of the Bellagio on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard.

It consists of two highrise towers, the Boulevard Tower and the Chelsea Tower, both of which are 184 meters (603 ft) tall. The $3.9 billion project features 3,027 rooms, a 110,000 sq ft (10,000 m2) casino, 300,000 sq ft (28,000 m2) of retail and restaurant space, a 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m2) spa and fitness facility, a 3,200-seat theater, and 150,000 sq ft (14,000 m2) of meeting and convention space.

In 2013, the hotel was rated "The Best Hotel in the World" by Gogobot. In 2015, the resort was named to the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List as one of the "Top Hotels in the World".

You can explore the one-of-a-kind restaurant collection featuring the Las Vegas debuts of world-class chefs. Let our stylish art and design exhilarate your cultural sensibilities and our vibrant nightlife capture your imagination. The eclectic mix of hand-selected boutiques, an unrivaled Pool District, 100,000 square-foot casino, and serene Sahra Spa & Hammam complete an unforgettable luxury experience.

Here's what Rick found when it comes to technology at The Cosmo

1.  Tech upgrades to the rooms

Rooms are outfitted with top-of-the-line technology that millennials will likely find very appealing. An iPad “virtual concierge” will enable guests to make restaurant and spa reservations, buy tickets, order room service, schedule wake-up calls, and control lighting and temperature. This will also be a great tool for meeting professionals to utilize. They’ll be able to communicate with attendees to send updates and alerts about the itinerary.

Additional include 65-inch Samsung TVs to stay entertained with Hulu, YouTube, Pandora, Crackle and NetFlix, and personal Bluetooth connectivity.

2.   Rose - The Cosmopolitan's resident Chatbox

Rose was unveiled in January of 2017. She is a chatbot unlike other chatbots in the hospitality space as she is playful, savvy, quick-witted and inspiring—reflecting the distinct mystique of the resort and its guests. Rose is an expression of The Cosmopolitan’s luxury-with-a-wink take on hospitality. Rose uses her wit, charm and bold personality to help guests have a better time. She is uniquely designed to move guests around the resort and surprise them along the way. Upon check in, guests are given a mysterious card in a room key packet with a phone number on it. Once guests begin texting the number, they will be introduced to Rose, who does more than any one person could do alone. Through interactive technology using real-time text messaging conversations, Rose guides guests through art tours as well as a variety of tours, has the ability to arrange for amenity delivery (towels, pillows, etc.) to guest rooms, suggests the perfect restaurant, recommends indulgent cocktails and even plays games. More complex questions or requests are handled by CoStars behind the scenes.
-  Important to note: Rose will be the first and only chatbot to communicate and serve guests that are players at the casino.

3.  Three types of pools to enjoy

The Pools at the Cosmopolitan features three different types: a relaxing pool, day club pool and nightclub pool.

4. Underground Parking

The Cosmopolitan was the second Las Vegas hotel, after The Palazzo, to feature an underground parking garage underneath the hotel. As a result, the parking garage was built first. In December 2007, work finished on the 70-foot hole for the parking structure, while other foundation work remained in progress.

5.  LED displays in Lobby

There are 408 LED high-definition screens, which play an inspired mix of videos created in partnership with artists from all over the world.

Powered by some 90 computers and 25 miles of cable, this stunning display of art and tech gets a complete refresh every 30 minutes — When you enter the hotel you will be greeted by a whole new presentation of sight.

Yes, there is a Hall of Fame for technology in Georgia!

A top-10 public research university in the U.S. with more than 29,000 students and 157,000 living alumni, Georgia Tech has become internationally recognized for the quality of its educational and research programs.

6. Electric Car Tax Credit in Georgia

It might come back!

Several years ago, Georgia offered a generous state-tax credit for purchase of a zero-emission vehicle, and its sales of electric cars boomed.

When state politics interceded to kill that credit in 2015—and add a new tax specifically on those same vehicles—the state became a case study on what happens when such incentives are suddenly withdrawn.

Now, state politicians are taking a second crack at an incentive.

Earlier this year, state representatives Spencer Frye, Todd Jones, and Allen Peake announced the introduction of House Bill 98 for the 2018-2019 legislative session.

While the text of the bill apparently hasn't been posted to the Georgia Legislature's website, the bill would create a $2,500 credit for buyers of electric cars within the state, presumably starting sometime in 2019.

The state's previous income-tax credit for purchase of a battery-electric vehicle has been $5,000; the new figure corresponds to that offered in California, where roughly half the country's electric cars are sold today.

While that previous credit was in effect, Nissan frequently cited the greater Atlanta area as one of the top regions for sales of its Leaf electric car.

Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 - New Golf Tech

A wrap up of St. Patrick's and St. Baldrick's

Then on to some new golf tech  and a bunch to get through this week...

Rick will be hitting the links this spring. Here's some of what new he'll be using.

Have a listen to Rick and Sully:

1. A New Fitted Driver from Club Champion

www.clubchampiongolf.com

Custom fit golf clubs from the experts...
Rick recently got fitted for a new driver at Club Champion.
When it comes to getting fit for golf clubs, in order to do it absolutely to the best of your ability, you need to look for four key things:

Demo Equipment:  How many brands of heads and shafts can you hit during your fitting session and even better, can you mix and match them.  At the end of the day, the more choices you have, the better.  If you’re only getting fit with one or two fitting carts and/or demo bags, you are not getting even close to the breadth of equipment combinations available today.

Technology:  A launch monitor is a MUST, but which one is important as well.  Many are good, but Trackman is still the de facto launch monitor the pros trust and so should you.  For putting analysis, the Science and Motion PuttLab is still second to none in terms of the data it delivers to help you decide which type of putter is best for you.

Your Fitter:  If you think reading a launch monitor and saying “You’re spin is too high, try this” is all there is to club fitting, think again.  There is an art to the science behind all of this, and if your fitter hasn’t been fitting for long or hasn’t seen a couple hundred people, you’re taking your chances that your fitter truly knows what he’s doing.

Club Building:  At the end of all of this, if you have a perfect 3 for 3 score from above but your clubs are built in the ‘custom shop’ of a manufacturer (ie assembly line) your odds of getting the clubs built exactly to your specifications decrease considerably.  No two sets should be alike, and you need someone to get those lofts, lies, lengths and swing weights dead-on to take full advantage of any club fitting process.
According to Golf Digest, 8 out of 9 Club Champion customers who upgraded to custom-fit clubs added an average of 21 yards off the tee and lowered their scores by as much as 6 strokes per round. In fact, nearly 100% of Club Champion Customers report they were satisfied.

4. Shot Scope V2 - Performance Tracking Watch
www.shotscope.com

Combining front/middle/back GPS with Shot Scope’s industry-leading Performance Tracking. V2 fills a significant gap in the market. V2 is now available.

Golfers have long sought a device that combined GPS yardages and fully automatic performance tracking; Shot Scope’s in-house engineers have developed a product that meets the needs of the modern golfer while retaining the company’s trademark automatic club recognition technology and detailed performance statistics.
V2 has three modes to suit the golfer’s playing requirements, GPS, PRO and GPS+TRACK, each mode has been designed for ultimate flexibility. In both GPS and GPS+TRACK modes, the LCD screen displays distances to the front, middle and back of the green from the golfer’s real-time position using SMART GPS. Distances to hazards will be released in a software update later in the year.
Performance Tracking is activated in both PRO and GPS+TRACK modes. The watch works in the background to collect over 100 Tour-level statistics, broken down into five areas: clubs, tee shots, approaches, short game and putting. Performance statistics of this calibre have previously only been available to Tour players. No manual input or phone-use is required.
V2 uses Shot Scope’s proprietary course mapping data which is compiled and quality checked by a team of elite golfers.

5. Club Car is celebrating 60 years in the industry in 2018.
http://www.clubcar.com/us/en/home.html

As far as golf carts go, Club Car is hard to beat...

Club Car was founded in the early to mid 1950s in Dallas, Texas.   Bill Stevens bought the rights to the golf car and moved the manufacturing facility to Augusta, Georgia, where he lived.
Stevens eventually sold out to Johns Manville Company and then in 1978 Club Car was sold again to a group of investors that included Billy Dolan and seven other top managers from E-Z-GO.  They redesigned the golf car and in 1982 introduced the DS model which is still familiar today. They took a small company from back in the pack to become a world class manufacturer of golf and utility vehicles.

They are also launching Tempo ConnectTM, a stylish new golf car with enhanced technology including Visage Fleet Management.
Tempo Connect’s enhanced ride is designed with automotive styling and connected technology. Club Car’s proven engineering, industry-leading durability and reliable comfort are evident with a new sleek front cowl, rust-proof aluminum frame, new alloy wheels, premium comfort seats and a spacious dashboard.
