Fantasy Football Buy or Sell for Week 3

More injuries to deal with for fantasy owners.

Who would've thought the Cowboys and Vikings would be 0-2.  Hopefully your fantasy team isn't 0-2.

Here's this weeks buys:

Josh Freeman, QB Tampa Bay - Freeman has more points so far this fantasy season than Tom Brady or Tony Romo.  He's been a great surprise for owners that drafted and held onto him.  He's still a risky player going forward, but if he keeps it up the Bucs could keep rolling.

Mike Tolbert, RB San Diego - If Ryan Matthews isn't 100% look for Tolbert to keep racking up yards.  He gained 82 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns against the Jaguars last week.  Pick him up now.

Mike Williams, WR Tampa Bay - If Freeman keeps going, Williams will perform as well.  Being the #1 receiver in Tampa never carried much weight, but Williams is coming into his own.

Jimmy Clausen, QB Carolina - Look at it this way, he can't be worse than Matt Moore.

And the sells:

Brett Favre, QB Minnesota - Will continue to be a sell until he is done, or resurrects his game in a big way.

Patriots D - Not good so far, and struggled against the Jets.

Reggie Bush, WR New Orleans - Going to be on the shelf for a few weeks, maybe more.

Matt Moore, QB Carolina - See Jimmy Clausen above.

Trent Edwards, QB Buffalo - It was bound to happen, he's now benched.

See you next week.

Cowboys Start Season 0-2

After a loss to the Chicago Bears, the Dallas Cowboys are left wondering when they will get their first win.

The preseason talk of becoming the first team to play in a Super Bowl hosted at their own stadium has been reduced to the most elementary goal of all: just win one game.

The Cowboys gave the Bears three turnovers, including two interceptions off quarterback Tony Romo. They had a chance to tie the game 20-20 midway through the fourth quarter, but unproven kicker David Buehler badly missed from 44 yards out. According to the Elias Sports Bureau only 10 percent of the teams who started 0-2 in the Super Bowl era have made the playoffs. That includes the 1993 Cowboys who started 0-2 and finished as Super Bowl champs.

If they go 0-3, they should know that only three 0-3 teams have rebounded to make the playoffs makes next Sunday’s in-state showdown at the Houston Texans a must win. The whole team will have to play better to avoid going 0-3.

Week 2: NFL Play of the Week

Let's try and rebound this week.

Patriots -3 vs. Jets.  Take this Pats, this could be ugly.  The Jets still have some problems and it's going to take a few weeks to get them ironed out.

The Patriots have the "take no prisoners" attitude right now and they won't be stopped this week.  Brady to Moss, Brady to Welker, Brady to whoever.  We'll see a bunch of that on Sunday and Rex Ryan and the rest of his team will have to go back to the drawing board.

Take the Patriots with no worries.

Ouch! Georgia Football falls to 0-2 in SEC

It's the first time in 17 years, Georgia lost to Arkansas in Football. It's the first time in 17 years, the Bulldogs dropped to 0-2 in the SEC.

The loss left Georgia in sole possession of last place in the SEC East -- behind even Vanderbilt, which beat Ole Miss on Saturday.

Georgia starts each season with the goal of winning the division, and that appears implausible, if not impossible, from the perch of an 0-2 league record (1-2 overall).

Georgia rallied from a 24-10 deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game on Washaun Ealey's 3-yard touchdown run with 3:55 remaining and seemed to have all the momentum.  But it wasn't enough.

Georgia got the ball back with a chance to win it, but Jake Bequette halted the drive at midfield with a ferocious sack of Aaron Murray, ripping off his helmet in the process. A poor punt by Drew Butler gave Arkansas the ball back at its own 28 with 47 seconds left.

Plenty of time for Mallett, who completed three straight passes — the last of them to Childs, who was wide open along the sideline, cut inside to fake out safety Shawn Williams at the 25 and went the rest of the way untouched for the winning score.

Georgia continues to play without All-American wideout A.J. Green who is serving a 4-game suspension.

Georgia is in trouble and they now have to goto Mississippi St. next week.

Kennesaw State not Kansas State Announces New Football Program

Let the record show that former Georgia football coach and AD Vince Dooley made the first blunder.  For some reason he announced that Kansas State will begin playing football in 2014.  He then corrected himself like only Coach Dooley can do and made it official that Kennesaw State, The Owls will play FCS football in 2014.

A football team, Dooley said, "establishes national brand and by that I mean a visible distinguished identification and a national prominence that's really not available from any part of the campus. It does initiate a sense of pride, a point of connection around the state. A football and a marching band energizes campus life and turns into the heartbeat and the spirit of a campus."

Georgia State, located in Atlanta began their football play this season, and have a game slated against Alabama in November.
