Fantasy Football Buy or Sell for Week 2

Week 1 in the NFL is usually a crap shoot.  No different this year as some surprises emerged and some players slid.  Also, many injuries to keep your eyes on.

Buy:- Arian Foster RB Texans - Broke out in a big way with 231 rushing yards amd 3 TDs.  He may not equal this type of game again, but he should be a more than solid performer.

Miles Austin WR Cowboys - He just signed a big contract to remain in "Big D" and he showed why he is worth all that money.  146 yards and a TD.

Austin Collie WR Colts - A big game for Collie.  Peyton Manning has a lot of faith in this young wideout.  He has great hands and runs great routs.  His numbers may be a little inconsistent each week, but he will give you the occasional big week.

Brandon Jackson RB - Packers - Ryan Grant is out with an ankle injury.  Jackson will carry the load and he is a capable back.  Also a good pass catcher.  Showed some flashes against the Eagles.

Michael Vick - QB Eagles - Vick should be the starter and looked like the Vick of old.  Will put up numbers on the ground and in the air.

Matt Hasselbeck QB Seahawks - Hasselbeck didn't look old to start the season and put up some big numbers.  He might actually be a starting QB for some fantasy teams as early as this week.

Visanthe Shiancoe TE Vikings - He might be Favre's favorite target this year. Start him!

Sell:  Anyone on the Buffalo Bills - A terrible start for the Bills and the schedule doesn't get any easier.

Matt Ryan QB Falcons - Disappointing first game to say the least.

Brett Favre QB Vikings - Favre looks old and rusty against the Saints.  Not sure if he'll get any better.

Matt Moore QB Panthers - Terrible and he may be out injured anyway.  Make way for Jimmy Clausen.

San Francisco 49ers Defense - Overated and got schooled by the Seahawks.

Week 1: NFL Play of the Week

I hate to say it but I love the Dallas Cowboys this week.  Both the line and the total should be winners.

Look for the Cowboys offense to break out against a Washington team under a new regime.  A big game for Romo and Miles Austin is on tap.

Take the Cowboys -3 1/2  and the total over 40.

The Big Game, if you are in Iowa

This is the big game on Saturday if you live in the Midwest between the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.

Predictions:  The game will be closer than last year's 35-3 blowout won by Iowa.

Both Iowa and Iowa State could be better teams than they were last year, and both teams had bowl wins.

Both teams are well coached.  Iowa by Kirk Ferentz and ISU by Paul Rhoads.

The game being in Iowa City is a big plus for Iowa.

Enjoy this rivalry, there is a chance this game might not occur with scheduling problems coming from conference realignment.

The final score will be 23-20  Iowa State.

Yes, I'm an Iowa State fan.

Prediction: Saints and Vikings Kick Off the NFL Season

The annual Thursday night game starts the season.  This year it's a good one for so many reasons.  We have the World Champion Saints, Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and many other storylines.

It's in New Orleans and the Vikings are hurting.  The Saints and their fans will be fired up.

Prediction:  Saints 31-17 over the Vikes.

Boise St. Takes a Big Step in Quest for BCS Title

Boise State has gained seven first-place votes to close in on No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Ohio State as the top three in the first regular season Associated Press football poll.

The Broncos remained third after a thrilling 33-30 victory against Virginia Tech on Monday night, receiving eight first-place votes and 1,399 points from the media panel, 13 points behind the Buckeyes.

Boise St. Head Coach Chris Peterson has put together an amazing coaching staff and group of players. If they can get past Oregon State and not lay any eggs for the rest of the season, many expect the boys from Boise to be play in the national championship game.  Lookout Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma.
