iPad Free App of the Week: Bowmaster HD

I actually stumbled upon this game by accident and it's pretty fun.

Draw your bow, take aim and release your inner Robin Hood in the most immersive archery experience.

The way you glide your fingers across the touchscreen just you feel like you are really shooting a bow.

Assume the role of a bowman who aspires to join the Merry Five and become their new leader, the Bowmaster. Achieve this by challenging each member in a one-on-one archery contest where skill and determination are key to overcoming each of the opponent's unique strengths.

Aim high and strike true to better other bowmen's online scores and become the worldwide Bowmaster!

The basic version contains the first two of five opponents, as well as the practice mode and target range. The final three opponents and a bonus level can be unlocked via in-app purchase.

- natural archery mechanics
- immersive 3D scenery and sounds
- five challenging opponents, each one with different skills and strengths
- one additional unlockable bonus level
- OpenFeint and GameCenter online scoring system
- tournament for up to four players on the same device

It's a little repetitive, but for free I'm not complaining.

Fantasy Golf Buy, Sell, or Hold For WGC - Cadillac Championship

 Listen!

Another World Golf Championship event this week with the Cadillac Championship.
This begins an important stretch of tournaments leading up to The Masters in a little less than a month.

One of the strongest fields of the year will tee it up Thursday this week at TPC Blue Monster at Doral. Ernie Els is the defending champ and Phil Mickelson won in 2009. There also is a certain player named Tiger Woods who before all his troubles had great success on this course.

Selections will be tough this week with many good players to choose from.

Here is this week’s buy, sell, and hold.

Buy:

Phil Mickelson (A) - How can you not go with the 2009 champ this week? Phil has two top-10’s already this season and the course will play to him.

Graeme McDowell (A) - Playing some superb golf so far in 2011. His T-6 at the Honda is a good sign he will play well here.

Bill Haas (B) - After a hot start to the season, Haas has cooled off a little. He has rested for a couple weeks and he should be ready to make more noise. Played well here last year finished T-6.  Is currently third on the Tour in GIR.

Steve Stricker (B) - Stricker hasn’t missed a cut in 2011 and has two top-10’s. He finished in a tie for 16th here last year. As a B-level player, Stricker is a must start here.

Mark Wilson (C) - The Wisconsin native has been the best C-level player by a mile so far in 2011.  With two wins and over $2 million in earnings so far this year, he's playing his best golf.

Zach Johnson (C) - Each and every week, Johnson is one of the most consistent players on the tour.  That makes him a good C-level pick most weeks.  Hasn't missed a cut so far in 2011.

Sell:

Kevin Streelman (C) - Not a great C-level selection with the strong field this week.

Charley Hoffman (A) - Has been inconsistent so far in 2011.  Had one good round, then a bad round.  With three missed cuts already this season, stay away from Mr. Hoffman this week.

Bo Van Pelt (B) - Has been awful so far in 2011.  Has only made one cut and his scoring average is the highest its been in 5 years.

Hold:

Adam Scott (C) - Has played well so far in 2011. Do you want to select Scott at an elite event like this? Didn’t play well last week at the Honda where he missed the cut. The course sets up well for him, but can he put four good rounds together?

And don't forget to check out this week's "flyer" of the week at the end of the AudioBoo above.

Kindle Free Pick of the Week: Wild Sight

A thriller this week as the free pick.

Haunted by visions of Druid priests and Celtic warriors, Donovan O’Shea left home in Northern Ireland and immigrated to America. With his father ill, he returns to help sell the family property and pub, and now, to his dismay, the “sight” has returned. He inherited the talent from his long-lost mother, who told him to keep it a secret, and he has. He is soon involved in the archaeological excavation on his family’s land and meets American Rylie Powell. Her father walked out on the family when she was a toddler, and she now believes that Donovan’s father is also hers. Donovan knows in his heart this cannot be true as the attraction between them is palpable. In between checking out DNA tests and family histories. the two become involved with murders past and present stemming from the Troubles, a quest that requires Donovan’s gift. Northern Ireland’s violent past combined with supernatural elements add an intriguing twist to this modern love story.

A must get for free.

Saturday Big XII Basketball Play of the Day: Missouri

It's one of the Big XII's biggest games anytime these two teams play.

Today #2 Kansas crosses the border into Missouri to take on the #24 Tigers.

Missouri is getting 3 points as home team and I like that.

The Tigers are unbeaten at home this season with a 17-0 record, they also are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games.

Kansas is playing to get a #1 seed in the NCAA Tourney, so they will be playing hard, but I still like Missouri getting the 3.

This game begins early at noon Eastern.

Potential Davis Cup Match of the Weekend: Melzer vs. Simon

If the tie between Austria and France gets to the 4th match, we'll have a good one to watch.

Two good top-30 players may take the court Sunday in a very important match.

Melzer vs. Simon.  if you aren't a tennis fan, you may not know how good this one might me.

A note: This match will be played in an airport hangar at the Vienna Airport.  Should be a loud crowd and some great tennis.  These two haven't played since 2009 when Simon won in Bangkok.

Since it's on clay and in Austria, I have to go with Melzer in 5 sets.
