Thursday Night NBA Play of the Night: Magic at Heat

The Magic visit the Heat tonight in a battle of two of the best teams in the East.

The home team owns this series, but the games can be close.  Orlando is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thu. games.  That means something to me.  This should be a fun game to watch.  The Heat are favored by 5.

I'm looking for a close game tonight, so the Magic are the play.

The Magic might not win, but they will cover with the 5.  Take the Magic.

Fantasy Golf Buy, Sell, or Hold For The Honda Classic

 Listen!

The PGA Tour heads east as the West Coast Swing wraps up and the players will soak up the fun and sun of Florida.

The Honda Classic used to be skipped by many of the top players; not so much this year as world #1 Lee Westwood, and the likes of Luke Donald, Matt Kuchar, Rickie Fowler, and Rory McIlroy are all entered.

"We have talked about the rise in stature of The Honda Classic for the past several years and these great commitments from some of the best players in the game serve as an endorsement of that," Honda Classic Executive Director Kenneth R. Kennerly said. "The Champion course at PGA National provides a great stage for the competition and challenge they will undertake the week of the tournament. And we will continue to push ourselves to become better each year so that the golf fans of South Florida and the golf capital of America continues to enjoy an elite event."
Fan favorite Camilo Villegas is the defending champ and he is back to try and repeat.

There are a lot of tough decisions to make this week, so do your research.

Here is our buy, sell, and hold for The Honda Classic.

Buy:

Steve Marino (A) - It's only a matter of time before Marino gets a win.  He has two top-10's so far in 2011.  When he gets hot, Marino will rack up the points.

Graeme McDowell (A) - McDowell is poised to have a great year on tour.  He took a month off to rest for a big stretch of events this Spring.  He played well last week at the Accenture, he could have a big week at the Honda with a win.

Spencer Levin (B
) - Levin is quietly having a good year.  He currently ranks 13th on the money list and has two top-10s in 2011.  He missed the cut here last year, but he won't if he keeps playing like this.

Vijay Singh (B) - Vijay hasn't missed a cut so far in 2011.  Hall of Famer Singh has found the touch with his putter and that led him to a 2nd place finish at Riviera.  Singh is 48, but he feels completely healthy after years of nagging injuries.  He finished T-4 here last year.

Jimmy Walker (C)
Walker has been "Dynamite" so far in 2011.  Five starts and five made cuts including a T-4 at the Northern Trust.

Sell:

Blake Adams (B)
- Has missed four straight cuts.  He may make it five here at the Honda.

J.P. Hayes (C) - Years ago, Hayes was a fantasy bargain.  Not anymore.  He hasn't made a cut so far in 2011 and hasn't even shot a round under par.

Heath Slocum (A) - Not a viable A-level play.  Has only made two cuts in six events this season.

Hold:

Chris Couch (C) - He's the leading C-level player right now, but didn't play well last year here at the Honda.  He hasn't missed a cut so far in 2011.  Play him if you have to, but he may miss the weekend this week.

Remember to listen to the AudioBoo for the "flyer" of the week.

Early Odds to Win Season 12 of Dancing With the Stars

What a cast!  I can't wait until the first episode.  Who has the right stuff to win on season 12?

Here are the early odds to win season 12 of Dancing With the Stars:

Hines Ward - NFL wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Hines has used fancy footwork for years catching passes in the NFL.  It will be tough to live up to what other NFL players have accomplished on DWTS.  With a good partner, he should be able to do as well as Kurt Warner did.  Odds to win 10-1.

Kirstie Alley - Actress from Cheers and perpetual dieter.  We'll see how seriously she takes the competition.  Odds to win 50-1.

Chris Jericho - Professional wrestler from Canada.  Jericho is a superbly trained athlete.  He's used to choreography as his wrestling matches have all been professionally choreographed for years.  He'll be fun to watch.  Odds to win 20-1.

Chelsea Kane - Disney actress.  A young talent that might be a surprise.  Not many people outside of kids and teens are familiar with her.  She'll need audience votes.  Odds to win 20-1.

Lil' Romeo - Singer and went by Romeo Miller when he played basketball.  As they say in the South, Romeo will have more moves that a can of worms.  It will be interesting to see how he fares on the waltz and quickstep.  Odds to win 15-1.

Kendra Wilkinson - Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend and star of her own reality series.  Kendra hopes to fare better than other former Playboy Playmates have fared.  I'm not expecting much.  Odds to win 30-1.

Wendy Williams - TV talk show host.  Will she embrace the competition and put in the long hours of hard work?  We'll see early on if she has what it takes.  Odds to win 35-1.

Ralph Macchio - Actor who was the original Karate Kid.  He might need Mt. Miyagi's help to make it far with this tough field of contestants.  Odds to win  25-1.

Petra Nemcova - Supermodel's never get far on DWTS.  She'll fill out the dress nicely, but can she dance?  Odds to win 50-1.

Sugar Ray Leonard - Sugar Ray was known for being light on his feet as a boxer.  He'll have to regain that form in a hurry.  Odds to win 20-1.

Mike Catherwood - The current host of Love Lines.  Could anyone pick this guy out of a lineup?  Odds to win 40-1.

Kindle Free Pick of the Week: Protector

Currently the #1 free book in the Kindle Store.

Laurel Dewey has crafted a memorable tale full of mystery and emotion in this debut novel.

Denver Homicide Detective Jane Perry is a hard-nosed, no-nonsense cop who is on the verge of a breakdown. She was physically abused by her father years ago, and the emotional turmoil from that abuse keeps rearing its ugly head. It has driven Jane to the bottle, and she has separated herself from everyone who tries to get close to her. When her latest case ends in the death of an innocent child, Jane doesn't know how much more she can take.

Suddenly Jane finds herself in the middle of another case where a young girl's life is in danger. Emily Lawrence's parents have been brutally murdered, and Emily is the only witness to the crime. As Jane and Emily draw closer together, they discover that they share an uncanny psychic connection that neither can explain.

As Jane takes on the role of Emily's personal protector, she begins to discover the ugly truth behind the murder of Emily's parents. Jane must now put her life on the line as Emily's protector while she finds a way to bring justice to the killer who wants Emily dead.

Laurel Dewey spins a fantastic suspense yarn, but this story is driven by the relationship of Jane and Emily. Jane finds hope and redemption through her connection to Emily, and Emily's character is captivating as she slowly chips away the wall that Jane has built around her emotions.

This is a story that will tug at your heartstrings, and Dewey reminds us of the importance of family and relationships.

Armchair Interviews says: This is an outstanding beginning to what is sure to be a successful writing career for Laurel Dewey.

Big XII Basketball Play of the Day for 2/26/11: Iowa State

A pick em game today in Ames.  Nebraska is looking to improve on their 18-9 record and Iowa State is looking to earn their second conference win.

Neither team has much going for it in the trends department, I just think we may see some good ole Hilton Magic today as the season draws closer to tournament time.

The Cornhuskers won earlier this season by one point in Lincoln.  Look for the Cyclones to get some much needed revenge today.

Prediction:  Iowa State and the Under today in Ames.
