Modern Family up for 17 Emmys

ABC's "Modern Family," which was last year's top comedy series, was the most-nominated sitcom with 17 bids, while "Mildred Pierce," a melodramatic miniseries starring Kate Winslet, led all programs with 21 bids.

Other shows vying for the comedy crown, in addition to "Modern Family," are three-time winner "30 Rock," "Glee," "The Office" and "Parks & Recreation." Even though "Glee" is back in the category, the sophomore musical hit experienced a bit of a comedown, seeing its nomination total fall from last's year's 19 to 12. Among the dropouts: Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison.

Still, at least "Glee" is in the running. Several other deserving sitcoms, including "Community," "The Middle" and "Raising Hope," all missed the cut. Also overlooked was the edgy critical darling, "Louie," which did score a first-time nomination for its lead actor, Louis C.K.

Modern Family," which should be favored to repeat as best comedy, once again dominated the supporting acting categories with Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara representing the show on the women's side and Ed O'Neill, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell earning nominations for the men. O'Neill's nomination was particularly satisfying, since he was the only member of the show's main cast be excluded last year.

Dancing With the Stars: Kym and Hines Score a Big Comeback

Maybe next season Kym will partner with Novak Djokovic

The magic numbers tonight are 3,4, and 15.

3- There will be three dances tonight.  A ballroom, a Latin and a Cha-Cha.

4- Four couples remain and the competition should be intense to make the finals.

15 - 15 bonus points will be awarded to the couple that wins the Cha-Cha competition.

Here we go.  Liiiiiiiiive!

A dancer to keep an eye on tonight is one of the pros.  Kym Johnson injured her neck and was rushed to the hospital late last week.  Will she be ok doing three dances?

Up first will be Ralph and Karina.  Ralph was a bit injured last week and his knee feels better this week.

They decide to have Ralph wear an special bootie enhancer to help him shake it.  A nice tango to start off the night.  Len liked it, Bruno and Carrie Ann thought it lacked emotion.  They get a 25, and they will dance the salsa in the next round.

Next we have Kirstie and Maks.  Can Kirstie find the energy for three dances?  One thing for sure, Maks won't cut any corners.  Another nice dance.  The judges liked it as well.  They get a 27 out of 30.

Next on the floor, Chelsea and Mark.  Mark wants more and more intensity from Chelsea.  He also demands perfection.  They get the Argentine Tango.  A very difficult dance that they nailed.  Carrie Ann didn't think it was sharp enough.  That being said, Bruno loved it!  They get a 28.

Hines and Kym are up next.  Kym had a difficult week of practice, injuring her neck when Hines almost sat on her neck doing a difficult move.  It was almost like a pro wrestling pile driver finishing move.  They do a real nice tango.  The crowd loved it.  Len compared it to the Kama Sutra, Carrie Ann broke down and Bruno jumped out of his seat.  They get a 30 and the comeback of the week award.

On to the second dance of the night.  Ralph remains a popular celeb on the show and I'm sure he's getting a ton of votes.  He needs a big dance here.  It must be a big dance because Karina broke out the catsuit.  Fast-paced and exhausting for the dancers.  Len thought it was wild and lacked rhythm.  Carrie Ann liked it.  They get a tough 23.

Next we have Kirstie and Maks.  Kirstie was a great story to tell and she has been an inspiration to many women.  It's seems a little strange that they talk about Kirstie's past cocaine addiction, then they dance to "White Room' by Cream.  They did great and they get a 27.

Up with their second dance is Chelsea and Mark.  Chelsea has worked hard to get this far.  Another strong performance from this duo.  The judges all liked it.  Len said she fulfilled her potential.  Bruno said it was "stunning."  They get a perfect 30.

Last up in round 2 is Hines Ward.  Hines is a great football player and has become a great dancer.  I bet he has worked harder than any other dancer.  They had a lot of fun with this dance.  Kym has recovered nicely from her injury.  They get a 30 as well.  60 out of 60 for the night.

We'll wrap up the night with a winner take all cha-cha.  15 bonus points to the winner.  Two rounds of cha-cha to crown a winner.

First up is Hines and Kym vs. Ralph and Karina.  These are quick dances and very important.  Hines and Kym take the first round.

Next we have Chelsea and Mark against Kirstie and Maks.  This particular round goes to Chelsea and Mark.

So the final cha-cha will be Chelsea and Mark against Hines and Kym.  15 bonus points up for grabs.

They both did pretty good for just finding out the music three minutes ago.  Some good moves and lots of action.  The bonus points go to Chelsea and Mark.

Results tomorrow night!

Modern Family Quotes from 'Good Cop, Bad Dog'

Phil and Claire swap parenting roles for the day - Claire will assume the role of good cop and Phil the disciplinarian bad cop.  How will the kids react?  Meanwhile Gloria is at it again, taking in every sob story and stray she comes across, Jay finds himself dispensing business advice to an overzealous entrepreneur about his dog training business scheme, and Cameron is stuck in bed with the flu -- leaving Mitchell torn about the Lady Gaga concert tickets they have for later that night.  Oh my!

Here are tonight's quotes.

Mitchell:  It's the one gay cliche I allow myself.

Manny:  In Europe this would be no big deal.

Claire:  What was good about Luke's report card?

Phil: He didn't lose it.

Phil: Dad wants to go go-carting!

Jay: He a dog, that's new.

Mitchell:  The bed kind of looks like a Rose Parade float.

Mitchell:  But there's that Craigslist killer.

Cam:  Can I get one of my little pudding cups?

Guillermo:  The good dog, bad dog training system...

Guillermo: The bad doggie treat is very bland.

Guillermo: Welcome to the ground floor.

Jay: She's peeing on the floor.

Phil: Stop this car!  You poked him!

Jay: Any idea would be a better idea.

Gloria: I put on the sugar jacket!

Manny:  Do you have a skinless chicken breast.

Claire:  What are you going to the ball Cinderella?

Alex:  Dad, we haven't had lunch yet?

Phil:  Either have half the kids in Africa.

Phil:  Grab your buckets and meet me by the car.

Claire: You are not a good bad cop!

Mitchell:  You drank enough of the cough syrup to drop a grizzly.

Gloria: But instead I have Jay.

Cam: You're still blinking sweetie!

Modern Family Quotes from 'The Musical Man'

Cameron takes control of the spring musical at Luke and Manny's school, while Jay's brother pays him and visit, and Phil tries to get the family to be in his new real estate advertisement.

Here are tonight's quotes:

Phil:  Are you the foxy Mom on the New Horizon Realty ad?

Phil:  All that driving around your Mom does will serve a purpose.

Cam:  Why do you have to throw a wet blanket on my dreams?

Manny:  I'm thinking of taking a run at her.

Jay:  My brother's an ass.

Donny:  There has to be an easier way to get a green card.

Cam:  We're twenty minutes long so I'm going to cut the Bollywood number.

Cam:  You know who else missed soccer practice, the cast of 'Rent"

Claire:  He's not just selling houses, he's selling us.

Jay:  That's why Colombia is such a peaceful utopia.

Haley:  I knew this car ride was a trap.

Claire:  Boys think you are cute, that doesn't last forever.

Phil:  Sweet Lorna Doone.

Phil:  I think the carpet matches the drapes, I haven't checked in a while.

Cam:  Powerful stuff!

Cam: it's not the Sistine Chapel, Ruben.

Manny:  Ruben hasn't had a bowel movement in a week.  That's how Elvis died.

Cam:  I had no idea I was surrounded by a bunch of quitters.

Cam:  Too bad people, we're doing it my way.

Phil: Keep looking forward!

Cam:  It has a certain flair.

Cam:  Just go with it.

Jay:  Don't hit him, he has cancer.

Jay:  I can't hear no more!

Cam: Joan of Ark is going to be ok.

Cam:  Not you sweetie, you just mouth the words.

Cam:  Lower the insignia.

Phil:  More of an escort, actually.

Haley:  I'll go home with anyone.

Alex:  That's what your sign should say.

Alex:  I think they're call "johns"

Claire:  Thanks to all the perverts in town, I still have some good years ahead of me.

Mitchell:  Luke, we're trying to have a moment here.

Non speaking:  We love the F-word

                          I can't be satisfied

Dancing With the Stars: From Charlie Brown to Charlie Sheen on Classical Night

This will be the fourth week of dances for our couples and hopefully we will have some questions answered tonight.

Will Karina keep her clothes on?

Will Pia Toscano, the most recently eliminated contestant from American Idol be there cheering on her new boyfriend, Mark Ballas?

Will Kirstie and Maks get penalized for a lift if Kirstie lifts Maks?

All that and some dancing tonight on DWTS.

Classical Week means the orchestra is larger and so are the stakes.

The pros had to work harder this week getting the routine just right with the orchestra and the beautiful classical music.

First up is Chelsie Hightower and Romeo.  Chelsie wants an all out aggressive performance from Romeo, he wants just to make it through the routine without screwing up.  A very dramatic and passionate performance and the crowd liked it.  The judges gave them a 23, including Carrie Ann taking a point away for a lift.

Now on to Louis and Kendra.  Kendra needs to show some improvment this week.  Is the Vienese Waltz just what the doctor ordered?  Louis had Kendra going at a pretty good pace this week.  With Katherine Jenkins singing, Kendra had a hard time with the routine, but didn't seem upset.  Carrie Ann said she lacked elegence and her scores reflected it with an 18 out of 30.

Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna are up next.  Big improvement for Sugar Ray last week.  The fans and judges loved him.  This week, Sugar Ray took a ballet class to prepare for his Vienese Waltz.  He had a great time with Anna, and the judges couldn't stop smiling as well.  Great entertainment and a 21 out of 30.

Next up is Team Dmitra: Dmitry and Petra.  Petra was great last week, this week a new challenge for Petra.  They attempt a Paso this week and Dmitry wants to see aggression.  She was aggressive and they both had a lot of fun.  he judges rewarded the pair with a 23.

Ralph and Karina are up next.  Last week, Ralph slipped a little.  He is aiming to return to the top of the leaderboard.  A nice routine and great teamwork.  Bruno loved it, Carrie Ann believed in it, and Len said it was great to have Ralph back.  Ralph receives a 25.

Here comes Hines Ward and Kym Johnson.  Hines had a great week last week, this week he tries his hand at the Paso.  Hines came out like a rocket.  There was pyro, there were leg kicks, and lighting that looked like lasers.  The dance was just as impressive.  Hines was in the zone and I'm not talking about the red zone.  He received a 25.

Next up is Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas.  Chelsea is worried about dancing to classical music.  They danced to a song from Harry Potter.  Bruno loved it, Len didn't think it was traditional enough.  They get a 26 and jump into the lead.

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke are next.  He's beaten The Rock, he's beaten John Cena, this week he takes on the Paso Doble.  It was a tough dance, but he did a good job.  Len wished he would've kept up with the music a little better, he gets a 23.

Last but not least is Kirstie and Maks.  They are trying to recover from the fall of last week.  Kirstie is trying hard to be a good dancer, but her hip injury is keeping her from practicing and hindering her routine.  Big props to Kirstie for getting through the dance.  Very elegant and she recovered well fro her shoe almost coming off.  She earns a 22.

Results show tomorrow night.
